3D printed Robocop Suit V.2020 Build- OCP Visit - Project Complete

I like where you`re going with the mid-section of that suit askernas. EVA foam could be the ticket...plasti-dip should be sprayed with high-gloss finish after that...Eager to see your results ;)
Thanks. Just got my order of good quality foam as well as contact cement in and have started sketching out and making some patterns. I just need to clean up my workshop so I have some space to actually do the glueing. I'm excited to see where this leads!

In order to separate our builds, I've started another thread on my build (and EVA foam mid section) on my robocop build =)
I will still lurk around here though ;)

It's been awhile since I've posted some progress and I have come a long way since my last update. Here some pics of where I'm at in it's current state. The suit is almost finished just need to put some finishing touches and smooth some of the parts out a bit more but overall she's almost there.

Nothing but a huge mess but I did manage to snatch a Elegoo Saturn resin printer...I look forward to messing with it someday :)

Looking good. Are you still going to mold the torso?

I'm first going to see how well the mobility is with the finished PLA midsection. If it's no good im still going to go through with molding it. I'm just not sure when I will :) Hopefully ASAP. I really want to wear it out to Dallas Comic Con in September.

That is looking VERY nice and sleek!

How's getting in to the gauntlets going? I had issues with even getting my hand through the wrist opening in the old files.

Thanks man! Actually for the gauntlets I detail on a YouTube video of mine here
towards the end of the video I show a trick I did to make my hand go in easier. Just make sure you have the most updated gauntlets from Asen so it fits better.

I'm finding that the files for the torso rings are corrupted. Did you have an issue with that?
I'm currently at work when I get home I'll take a look and see how the rings open up in Simplify3D. I do remember cutting each ring a couple times in Netfabb basic. I think most of the rings were 3 parts each and then I glued them together when done.

Yes sir I just molded the first half of the midsection and did a casting in urethane foam rubber. Im about to do the second half back section this week or next. I'll post some pics soon.

This is an intense build. Props to you man.

I am very curious. You said the DO3D files were not screen accurate? In what way? I am a 3d Print Designer for cosplay and props and have always seen that company as lethal competition to me.

Also, You are aiming for accuracy over function aren't you? Looking at Robo Cop's hands. Are you going to be able to use your hands to say hold a firearm prop?

Thanks Joberg appreciate it. Another update I'm still at it and going strong. I molded both the front and back parts of the midsection and will be making casts with flex foam it 15 foam rubber.

I also cut some aluminum brackets, drilled and tapped to hold the chest and back together and make them nice and secure. I also installed some screws for the shoulder rings to hold in place. Here's some pics of my progress....

Still working hard. Will have more progress soon.

Thanks Joberg, the closer I think I am to getting done it seems to be 5 steps back and more work to do then I thought. Were really close on this one though. Hope to have it done really soon.
