3D Printed Functional Iron Man Mark III

NP bud!..

I got ya covered.. (it'll be a WIP...especially each future step towards it being 'canon' to the movies)

still working on my 'mini' (shrinkified) neuro-network hardware bug(s) too!!!

still need to think on the DROIDX two-way communication to HUD and hardware.....etc..etc

:)

The webcam and video glasses, I did it in my MK7 helmet with a spy cam and Vuzix glasses, before I broke the helmet, it works fairly well but I couldn't fit the camera in the forehead, despite being very small, it still was to big to center it. So it was in the chin, in the groove. check out my MK47 thread, it's somewhere in it. What were you planning to use for the camera ?
I must say, this is looking awesome !

as the live streaming video.. with HUD overlay.. and (in theory) real time communication with the sensors (Arduinos) on screen/feedback..

Ryan's got some bog plans in the works for sure! :)

for now.. I have ONLY been able to get the HUD working with:

1.) live feed/input
2.) HUD graphical overlay (animations/tech stuff)
3.) 'HUD' communication to the neural-network (Arduino)... (not network to HUD working yet)
4.) This is also only working on a 'PC' set-up for now.. (easier to develop on it)
meaning the webcam and HUD overlay is working on PC and sending data to the Arduino(s)...

this is NOT the communication direction we 'really' need..

HUD >> network would be nice/great (and available if we ever get that far) if 'somehow' we can interact with the HUD screen...

since the final hardware is still in research/beta phase.. Im not sure if there is any 'mouse' (for lack of better term) input to interact with the 'screen'..

what we need to dial in is how to get communication the other way working (currently only working on Linux....but thats just my lame approach there are probably better ways and work-arounds for this).. we need the network >> HUD communication going..

so the accelerometers can light up the correct visuals/displays on the HUD.. or when the arm is lifted or repulsor charging.. the mini pic of the armor in the corner has that arm/glove highlighted..etc..

(could in theory) work in some charging up/down times.. or power levels... after 'xxx' amount of shots..etc..

Im sure Ryan has a plan too.. and we'll get it worked out (eventually) LOL

eye-tracking would be ideal as a mouse, but likely way to expensive and bulky. Voice control seems the most practical option, but if anyone can figure it out, it's probably him !

Im sure we'll push the DROIDX hardware as far as we can.. and I'll make the HUD as interactive as possible with the 'network' :)

Awww yeahh.... :D

Yeah, I'm using Vuzix as well. I dismantled the whole setup and will just be using the screens from it. I bought a very slim USB camera from eBay, and I'm hoping it will fit in the forehead slot.

Yeah, actually it may be possible with the Emotiv Epoc. Otherwise, I'm thinking a touch screen concealed under the forearm armour on the left arm.

Yup yup!

You gonna put a backup cam in the ass? ;)

Ha ha, xl said it. ;)

Semi-related update! For those not familiar, I've been (slowly) working on a 100% screen accurate Mark VI arc reactor. I wanted to recreate the entire scene where he creates the new element, and this was a major step in that direction: Mark VI New Element - COMPLETE!

Im loving watching this unfold, 3D-printing is such a fascinating concept :confused

Keeping an eye on this one :)

This looks amazing. I plan to get a 3d printer soon and start my suit. I could use some guidance on how to proceed on some things on the suit though

You could probably use the new "google glass" as a camera and access to jarvis via voice command app.
