39" Seaview coming from Moebius Models!

I wish they had photos of the patterns or one of the test shots. THis is a great thing and I hope they do others in this larger scale. An after market kit of the things needed to convert to the movie/first season version whouldn't be that hard.
I like both versions but the later version with the four windows is my favorite version.

I have to agree. I wouldn't turn down either version, but the 4 window nose makes my favorite list.

I guess I would take that response as a positive; it shows that whomever is working on the product knows the difference between the two designs. I didn't think there was that much of a difference, but I would guess that we are not just talking about 4 versus 8 windows and the sonar blisters, but other more subtle changes.

Since Moebius has actually put some product on the market that they are more "real" than others, but I'm sure that there are many people here and on other boards, who would love to see the masters. Assuming they aren't at the tooling stage yet, it wouldn't hurt them to post pictures; I'm sure there are eagle eyes here that might spot a few things.

OK, glad they answered you Sarge, and thanks’ for posting the Info.

I will get a TV version, either of the version’s would make great display boat.

Bye for now

Ahhhh, Where the H#ll is the flying sub?

I'd but the kit just for the tiny flying sub...

The pre-order info says there's going to be a flying sub. I too would like to see it. The detail on the other pieces looks amazing. and only $79! What a bargain!

Ask, and you shall receive... :cool

I can't wait for this one, either! I already have two preordered. I am considering ordering two more.

Sounds like the kit will have options for both the 4 and 8 window versions of the SeaView! Cheers,

Dave C

Oh COOL! I'm glad he reconsidered that! Now I can make the "Nelson's desk" version! :)

Just for information....

First a quick clarification...

The Seaview comes with two sets of front windows, but they are both feature the 4 window design. The different miniatures featured different window frame designs. One model had window frames flush with the hull, while another studio model had raised window frames. The kit allows you to build either design.

The kit will not include the 8 window movie version. The movie Seaview had other significant differences from the 4 window TV Seaview, which is why that design is not part of this kit.

they even have an advert for a submersible kit option.
kind of slapped the thing together today to get a look at its size ,going to be one hell of a model.
so glad I lived to see the 21st century

here are a few shots of the model so far.goes together like a dream.
The main alteration to the kit was separating the upper turtle deck from the main hull and reinforcing the hull with struts.this will be held on with screws placed under the three hatches along the upper deck.
shown are shots of the separated hull, the interior painted and lighted using white Led's and a random chase set up for the main computer board.I had thought of placing fiber-optics in each hole of the "Wild" board but have just left them drilled out with a piece of refraction plastic behind to defuse the light.you can see it very well from the correct angle.I will probably use the fiber-optic strand for the lights over the missile control board since I will have to color each individually.
enjoy
