32 inch ESB Millennium Falcon

Frank,

Procrastination and rampant speculation, endless mewling over confirmed donor parts
icon18.gif
, size/scale issues theorized over for the millionth time, waisted years spent plinking on an autocad to no avail, with the assumption that it can properly define the scale of a model, etc etc etc... Hey, it's all good!

Basic Studio Scale Modeling Formula 101

1. A LOT OF MONEY = (Look into retiring at 80)
2. DONOR PARTS = (100's of kits)
3. GOOD FRIENDS = (Paramount)
4. GOOD REFERENCE (Without it, Forgetaboutit)
5. TIME = (Many years it takes)
6. ADOBE PHOTOSHOP/Illustrator (Those of you who use it, and use it well know what I'm talking about)

WARNING: There are serious health consequences from attempting to embark on a studio scale model. Symptoms may include: A newfound distinctive behavioral trait to scream FU*K out loud for no apparent reason which alarms family members and scares pets. Partial blindness due to scrutinizing, loss of memory. General speach impediments/impairment (thingy thingamabob, doohickey and doodad become a comprehensible form of communication). And a general all around squishy (like mud or a soft fruit) feeling in the brain could result.

Hey Frank, are you building an R2 as well? That sure looks like an aluminum large data port under your Falcon there!
Falcon Dude

BrundleFly - That is amazing. You guys are incredible. I woudn't know where to start on this project.

Where do you get the blueprints to build the overal shape?

Also, are you using black styrene? What is the black stuff?

Thank you!!!

Hi everyone. Just found this site and is fantastic to see so many people into building the daddy of all star ships THE FALCON. Would love to be able to build one myself like Moe's bird. Ive got many reference books on the model but am not sure how to go about making plans/blueprint of 32"falcon. Given myself one hell of an headache scanning forums and the web for much information as possible. Don't want to be a cheeky git asking if anyone has blueprints to start me off as i know the amount of time and energy everyone has put in to make theirs. It would be a massive help though as im really banging my head against a brick wall at moment. Even if no one has , could anyone tell me how to go about drawing my own up? Hope to hear from anyone soon May the force be with you! Neil.

falcon dude
Thanks!
ys I am!!

Re: Blue Prints. Finding the measures..is a RIGHT OF PASSAGE!!
If you cant figure out the basic shape....you will have a really hard time with the smaller stuff.

Know what I mean?

Right of passage is too true. Asking for blue prints or kit lists is like asking a guy to hand over his personal bank account information.... The more hard work you do on your own , the more respect you will gain from your peers. In due course, doors will eventually open for you.

blueprints......
- they are essential to obtain a perfect result. They way I did mine were to look at the ship as shapes, not a ship, just plane shapes. Cicles, triangles, hidden line etc. I didn't even think about the right scale to begin with. When my basic shape was done and all the lines matched up with eathother I scaled it. Mine is not perfect, but it's d.... close.
A computer with the right software and a bit of logic thinking and you'll big on the way....
