Re: 32" Falcon Progress/ more newer pics page 7

I think we're overdue for an update.... how's it coming along?

Re: 32" Falcon Progress/ more newer pics page 7

Hey Guy, Thanks very much for the offer of the sheridan bits, but I'm ok, I've got one in the stash, it's very kind of you to offer, thanks again (y)thumbsup

Billy, update soon, just been a bit busy with family stuff the last few weeks, daughter was 18 this week, we had quite a bit of stuff to sort out for that.....dunno where those 18 years went, here's me sounding really old..they grow up so fast...it's scary..its all good though.

Cheers

Phil

Ok guys here goes, another update..usual stuff, bit of this and that, real, cast and scratch.

These pics are the waist as you can see. I think these are more or less finished. Under paint I'm sure they'll look not too bad.

Hmmm..engine deck. This is a bit awkward to get the parts in the right place. A bit of jiggery pokery needed with it. Turns out, the deck plate is about 5-6mm too big/long. I dunno how this has come about, obviously a balls up with my measuring, but it's too late to change it now. Anyway, I've made the Flakvierling suspension bits a little longer to take up a bit of the discrepancy, and the styrene plate underneath is a bit bigger than it needs to be too. It's more than a bit annoying, but there it is...warts and all.:angry If I were to have a go at changing it now, I'd have to rip off the plate which would destroy most of the rear section. Hopefully when it's all nailed down it'll look ok..

Let me know watcha think, and thanks again as usual to all who have helped me out with ID's and spare parts.(y)thumbsup

Cheers guys

There are actually a couple kits that can be used for this gearbox part (possibly others...)

Looking really good, Phil! You studioscale guys are just incredible! Jason, when are you rebuilding yours?

Re: 32" Falcon Progress/ more new piccys page 9

That looks fantastic mate!!! Those sidewalls are awesome. I agree, they'll look even better with some paint on them!

Re: 32" Falcon Progress/ more new piccys page 9

You model guys are killing me here. I thought the props were tough.

It's about done now, I need to make the spoilers next, and do the rods and boxes, but it's getting closer...:wacko

Those elusive wheels...I made them with a sanded down cast of the hanomag wheel and some cut down tubing, I cut some out of the tube to make it smaller and wrapped it around the Hano part, fired superglue at it and the finished one's are on the right. I can't take the credit for the ID of the hanomag part though, Mensaboy over on resin illum did the ID-ing for that bit. Thanks a lot to him !!:cool

Anyway that's it for a bit, won't be much progress now until the new year. Lots of Christmas stuff to do, and the spare room is full of stuff we've moved out of the way to make room for the tree..

Cheers

Now that is some progress Phil!. Just stunning to see all those lovely kit parts etc... take shape to form the best piece of the Falcon IMO.
As I went through your pics the gasps of awe got louder after each photo.
She's looking hot Phil, not too long to go now to a finished Falcon, woohoo!.
