Hey blokes, another update, docking rings-escape plantpots, or wotever..
They started out as picnic cups..

The front round part goes inside the plantpot bit, as you can see.

Resin cast of door.

Starting the detail on the door area.

Finished, with parts from the 8 rad, 222/223 and airfix scorpion..

And finally..

So, next need to plate around them and then on to the turret windows...they're gonna be awkward. Then the guns and inner mandibles, almost there,...:wacko

Very nice work Phil. Did you scratchbuild the engine vent rings or was there a donor kit for one and casting a set?

Hey Scratchy, the vent rings were a set built and cast by Moe & Frank I believe. I got them second hand. I dunno if he still makes them, it might be worth a pm to him..

Hey Guys, A few more pics..

I dunno if you can see what I did here, but I've taped the smaller ring to a few layers of plastic to set the depth. I taped the big ring to the turret and then added the spokes..

A bit of sanding, and I got these..

A bit more detail..

As requested by Colin, a pic of where I am now..just about, I added the turret detail above after I took this.
