Will the hilt incorporate any spring loaded plungers where the greeblies would normally go?
I'm planning on something like that. Will the hilt incorporate any spring loaded plungers where the greeblies would normally go?
Why does this make me hungry?I think it's a pretty cool design and, for me, really connects with OWK's new fighting style in the D+ show. Which, I feel, really fits with the way his older body works and his new giant opponent. I think I'm going to call it the "General's Tachi" or something like that.
HahahaWhy does this make me hungry?
Yes. I have one here and the side profile looks the same. You covertec guys, does that covertec belt mount look like a conventional one you buy on eBay?
I need to get my hands on one to scale the location of the covertec
Thank you sirYes. I have one here and the side profile looks the same.
I seen today HeroProp listed a few sabers and Knowing that you were doing this model I thought I'd come here straight away to post this in case you want the better reference or you want to own it Obi-Wan Kenobi (2022) - Obi-Wan's Practice SaberView attachment 1808655
I was so excited seeing the photo Paul posted, I immediately started playing around with my CAD model again!
I randomly checked this morning and found this. You beat me to itI seen today HeroProp listed a few sabers and Knowing that you were doing this model I thought I'd come here straight away to post this in case you want the better reference or you want to own it Obi-Wan Kenobi (2022) - Obi-Wan's Practice Saber
In the fight scene in Ep3, pay close attention to the saber lockups. In the first one or two, you'll see a thin-neck stunt saber. Then in one shot, a thicker neck LOOONG hilt, which Ewan is holding in a reverse grip. I modeled the saber using some private reference, it looks like this:

I've been sitting on this model for quite a while. I made some 3D prints to test it out in person, it's very odd. Not sure if anyone would actually want this in person, probably made at Ewan's request to have more area to hold? Even the pommel is stretched out.

I actually have another plan, which is to situate all the control (on/off button, recharge port) under the faux control box rectangle--which will be removable and held in place with magnets. Once you install the pixel core, you'll activate the saber by removing the control box rectangle door and you operate to buttons hidden underneith. When you're done playing, you'll replace the control box rectangle door and hide everything away, making the saber look just like it did on set (where the electronics were controlled remotely rather than by Ewan's fingers). This way, the saber can accept any number of pixel or rgb cores, whether it's TXQ, Damian Sabers, or whatever. So excited!! :0 Is it looking this this may still incorporate 2 spring load plungers?
Well, he came right out and called it 'playing.'
