And did you know MacGyver was a Calgary Flames fan? :D

im going got my weekend pass will be in my iron man suit all 3 days open to close only guest i think im willing to shell out the cash for is stan lee since i missed him there last year he was sold out but at least i got in all 3 days

One more sleep! Except tomorrow is gonna be kinda wasted as I won't be able to get down to the BMO until about 5:00 or 6:00. But I will head down tonight to pick up my pass. Looking forward to this weekend.

I read in the paper yesterday that 56,000 tickets were sold, first time it was a sell out. Hopefully they worked out the bugs from last year.

Went done to the BMO this evening to pick up my weekend pass. For those that are going, keep in mind that Cirque du Soleil is setup on lot 6 beside the Big 4 building so parking on the Stampede Grounds will be less than last year. Pretty decent crowd there already picking up passes.

That was the year they won the cup right? Man has to be current. ;)

I just remembered they shot an episode of MacGyver here in Calgary when they were shooting in Vancouver. They filmed it at Heritage Park. It was the one where MacGyver was dreaming he was in the old west. You can see the Park's Wainright Hotel quite a bit in the episode.

I wish I could have gone but driving into Calgary after work in rush hour is the last way I wanted to spend my evening. Why couldn't they just mail out the wristbands in advance?

So I got in a couple hours after work today...
BRING CASH!! Lots of it. My initial observance of what each guest is charging for autographs is higher than last year. The highest I paid last year was $75 for Patrick Stewart - and he was the most expensive last year. This year... Ian Mcdiarmid is going for $90. Richard Dean Anderson is going for $85 + $5 for an 8x10. Carrie Fisher is $70. And from what I heard, Gillian Anderson is either $70 or $80, and if you want it personalized it's an extra $20 (not confirmed but this is just what I overheard from other people in the crowd). I didn't see any for less then $30 this year :eek. Last year some were free or as low as $15. I did get Richard's today and at least he is taking time to chat with each person so at least that is nice of him. Also got Walter Koenig's this evening, who was charging $40, and if you ask nicely, you can take a photo with him at his signing table at no extra charge. (may be different tomorrow as there was less people there this evening). Oh, and it looks like Stan Lee is charging the same this year as last: $55. Saw him from the distance and the man still looks great. Will get his signature tomorrow.

My friend who was going with me has kind of screwed me over so I am going alone. :(

I'll be the guy with the light up Iron Man shirt. Say hi..I'll be lonely.

Was that you in the line-up for John Rhys-Davies this morning? Someone was there in a black t-shirt with a light-up chest piece underneath.

I think so. ACtually there was another guy with the shirt. He had sunglasses and a goatee. I didn't pregrow enough! Did I talk to you Goonie? People were very friendly in the line.

I went Friday & Saturday & the show was awesome.
The guests were all in awesome moods especially Robert Patrick who cut jokes & talked for over ten minutes at his table while he signed.

The Terminator panel with Linda Hamilton, Kristana Loken, Micheal Biehn & Peter Kent & Robert Patrick was killer.

The photo ops were a little pricey but worth every penny for the Terminator cast & Carrie Fisher Ian Mcdiarmid team up.

John Rhys-Davies & Mitch Pileggi were probably the nicest & most sincere guests that I met all weekend.

The Calgary Expo put on an amazing show & it was easily as good as if not better than a Wizard World show. :thumbsup
Can't wait to see what next year's line up will be.

The show was awesome this year. Maybe I overspent on autographs but I got everyone I wanted except for Ian. Emperor Palpatine asked a little bit too much for an autograph. For that price he should've been shooting lightning bolts out of his fingertips. Linda Hamilton was super nice. Got her autograph yesterday, but went to see her again today to get an autograph for a friend. The lucky ******* in front of me got a kiss from her!!

I'll report back with more and photos within the next few days. I'm completely drained right now as last week I was only averaging about 3 hrs of sleep per day.

Today's highlight, getting two autographs from Stan Lee and an autograph from the now Disney Princess, Carrie Fisher.

Here's a couple pics of God...
;)

And here is God signing my Avengers poster...
;)

Stan also signed a little Spider-man statuette for me. For a 90 year-old, Stan is amazing! He was firing off autographs faster then a lot of the younger media guests. Must be a superhero himself.:)

Went to the Calgary Entertainment Expo this weekend and got to meet a few celebs. My first one was John Carpenter. Super nice guy and I got him to sign my Mondo The Thing print.

Then I got to meet Nathan Fillion the next day. He was beyond awesome and when Peter Dinklage arrived for autographs, he stood up and applauded him. When I got up to meet him, he saw my tattoos and completely nerded out and asked me to roll up my sleeves so he could take photos of them both. Someone mentioned that he could be an ******* but he was super cool.

Then I got to meet Michael Beihn. Of all the guys there, he was the nicest one I had met. He chatted with me for a few and then I told him that I was gonna be getting a Cpl. Hicks portrait tattoo and he got all excited and told me that the next time he was in town, he wanted to see it. Then I say down next to him to take a pic and he actually got in real close and actually pulled me in. Kinda funny too because my buddy was trying to choose on a pic and there was a color Cpl. Hicks at the end and he asked me to grab one for him and I did and then he's like actually can you pass me the entire pile and his wife laughed and said "that's right! We're putting you to work!" I can honestly say of all the celebs I've met, Michael was the coolest and most nice. You could just tell he liked being around his fans.

I also got to meet Steven Yeun from the Walking Dead. Super cool guy and had no problem chatting, we were talking about his character from the comic and show.

Surprisingly, the most enthusiastic person there was Richard Steven Horvitz who does alot of voice acting like invader zim, alpha from power rangers, etc. my friend was getting something signed and this guy was actually yelling out in his voice everything he wrote like quotes and whatnot. He was taking pics and videos with his fans and he was laughing in his zim voice. Like he must have had no voice by the end from all the talking and yelling and laughing he was doing. It's funny because while I was waiting with my buddy, I said "I wonder if I should mention that there aren't any summer school prints to sign,......maybe I shouldn't, maybe it was a bad film for him and I'd sound like an *******. Turns out that a friend of mine said to him that Summer School was one of his favourite films and Richard goes "give him his money back, he's the only one thats mentioned summer school so I will not charge him anything "

I also met Adam Hughes and got a sketch from him. I don't know if he was just burnt out but he came off as a miserable *******.

My buddy told me that the photo ops were a gong show. He was standing all set up for the photo with Stan Lee when the photog asks him to step closer and as he's moving the guy takes the pic. He said half of the photos on the table were of people making weird faces or moving because the idiot behind the camera is hurrying everyone along. Maybe they should lower the # of tickets for photos so that they can actually do them properly. Make me glad that I threw Michael Beihn an extra tenner and got a pic with him at his table.

I was incredibly pissed about Norman Reedus though. He was signing at 5:30 so I got there at 4:30 and they weren't allowing people to line up so I said ok screw it, I'll just chill out front of his line and wait. So as I'm waiting this volunteer walks up and says people can't line up until 5:00 and that we aren't allowed to stand in front of the line up area and we should walk around and come back just before 5. So we all take off and do our own thing when no more than 45 seconds later, my friend who is in the Sean Patrick Flannery lineup right next to Reedus's texts me and says that literally as I walked around the corner, they opened up the line and to get back and just as I get back, they roped off the line and said it was full. I asked why the hell she would tell us to leave and come back at 5 and then let everyone in 30 seconds later and she said it wasn't her call. I was so pissed that I lost interest in meeting Reedus. It seems they still have some idiots working the con.

The Highs:
One of the last autogrpahs of the day for Stan Lee, he was busy signing my 3 books, and I said, really nice to see you again, I saw you last year. He paused looked up and said thank you for coming back. Really class guy.

Carrie Fisher, really funny lady, and very down to earth, she encouraged several of us to take a picture which appeared as if we had grabbed her boob, but we of course did not, she had the surprised look on her face to sell it.

Ian McDiarmid, pleasant professional and wrote a funny saying for me on my picture of us.

Michael Pileggi, (X-Files) really nice guy had a nice time chatting with him about a funny pose he and Gillian Anderson and Robert Patrick did in my photo op

Walter Koenig, Nice guy, but did not say too much he looked sickly, and a bit depressed

Artist, Ken Steacy, he had been there before and I had chatted with him about his ghostbusters and star wars art. Really nice guy to chat with again,

Artist, Neal Adams, Nice chatting with him regarding his Superman vs Ali comic

Low points:
Robert Patrick

I had taken a photo op with Gillian Anderson, Michael Pileggi, and Robert Patrick

I was wearing a shirt that had Yoda doing the see no evil, hear no evil, and speak no evil poses. So Gillian decided to have them all immitate the shirt. I wasn't sure if it would make a good picture, but Robert said sorry all you get is one, and I thought he was joking, but detected a slight edge to his tone. Anyways Gillian's idea was great and the pic turned out good. I went to Robert Patrick's booth to get it autographed.

Anyways, there was a guy ahead of me who had brought in a lifesized arnold head to sign and he yelled that's not me. When I got up there, I jokingly said I have a picture of Arnold for you to sign and then said just kidding as I placed picture of the four of us down on the table. He looked at what Michael Pileggi had signed and then said aggressively "I'll sign it shut the **** up! He then signed it and I took my picture and left what an *******!!!!!!!!!

I bite my lip, I actually wanted to punch him, but would have undoubtedly been barred from the comic con permanently, criminally charged, and possibly lost my job if that happend.

Funny thing was I actually felt sorry for him on Friday when he had no line up of fans to see him. What a complete *******.

It's my sincerest hope that he comes to Toronto this year. I don't think he's in the best of health. :(

Love the Carrie Fisher story!!! Was the "boob grabbing" a photo op or just at her table?

If you get the chance to meet Walter, take the opportunity. I don't know how much longer he'll be with us.

Unfortunitly he appeared ghost white, and when I spoke with him, I asked "I hope you are rdoing OK, he barely got out an audible yes, and I said that I hope he enjoyed the show, and he again barely got out a thanks.

Fake boob pic was at the photo op.

Not sure what happened to make Robert be so abrasive with you.

He was cooler than cool with me on multiple occasions throughout the weekend.
He was also awesome at the Terminator cast photo op with me & the people in front/behind of me.

He was the main reason that I made the trip to Calgary for this show.

Yeah, not really sure about why he was so abrasive wth me either. Went through it in my mind a few times and did not deserve to be treated like that.

Prior to the incident I was looking forward to meeting him. I try to be respectful to all people, including the celebrities. But, he did seem to go out of his way to be an A hole to me.

I was a fan of his prior to this encounter, suffice it to say, I am no longer a fan, and have NO respect for him as a person, and have NO desire to see him in person or in the movies. :thumbsdown

Regarding Carrie Fisher, the fake boob grab occurred at the photo op. Again, the daughter of old time hollywood stars, and the star of three of the most popular movies of all time, she was truly a nice person and funny to boot for even thinking of making the fans experience memorable in a positive way. :thumbsup
