When I was younger and didn't know about props, Playmates were all I could get access to. It wasn't until the late '90s that I started trying to step up the quality of the collection.
I've got to talk to Gerry at some point about some Tricorder electronics. I'd actually like to do up a Playmates TNG tricorder with electronics and then one of the Myron Stapleton ones that I have...Then I need to get a TOS tricorder...I also want to get a metal TOS phaser eventually...the list goes on. Jeez.

I'm in the middle of lighting a Klingon Bird of Prey and thanks to the little cheat sheet of local electronics places it's going quite nicely.
