2010 Custom Sonic Screwdriver Winners

I'm sad.. you guys made such fantastic screwdrivers, and I was embroiled in a personal hell of studies, finals, and a baby. Oh well. You all did great!

I had such a kick-ass part for it, too. Beautiful red emitter, I'll try to get a picture up later.

I too wanted to enter this contest but due to a email glitch I couldn't post untill today.

My entry was going to be a blue cartoon hedgehog on a three foot electric screwdriver!

Well done Pete. Terrific work. Your sonic will be in the post tomorrow. It also has the honor of being the very last MFX replica to leave the premises and it's fitting it's going to an RPF member in a sonic screwdriver contest. Perfect finish.

To all entrants; that was a great contest with some fantastic entries. How brilliant. Congrats to everyone who entered.

Hi everyone, just to say that I recieved my beautiful MFX Sonic on Friday. What a wonderful piece it is, It has that lovely weight and feel to it that only metal pieces have, as close to the real thing as is possible.

Thanks to MFX for getting it to me so quickly, and thanks for donating it for the contest. As was stated before, it's a real shame that you have had to pass on the Who licences, but I'm sure there will be more wonderful work to come!

Thanks again everyone for such a great time!

Pete

Just want to let you all know that I got the DVD in the mail today. It is brand new and I am looking forward to watching it, thank you all :D

Man I am so glad someone used my name on this thread, otherwise I would have never found this! I actually had to go back and look at my original photos to find the build pics. I was entry #18, and I built my sonic from "nurnies" I had around. Sorry about some of the blurry pics, but my auto focus didn't work right. So long ago...I think I made the lower parts from a cord support or stabilizer. The middle is some cyno glue caps, with a toy gasket I think, The metal parts are something I found at an electronics surplus store here in LA, The front was more cool brass washers and stainless parts I found at hardware surplus places. On the tip I think that's a couple of radar dishes from Model Railroad parts I glues together and of course i used Blue LEDs for the lights. As Luck would have it I had BARELY enough room to fit the battery compartment in the center with a switch I had from a toy I think. Thanks to all who voted for me. (if anyone did at all, I can't remember)

I know it's nearly a year later but is there any chance you can provide a link or email me one to the plans and how to of your sonic screwdriver build please?
