2001 landing bay 1:72 scale WIP

So this part of the build is done: both lighting trenches are finished. Waiting now for the 1:72 figures to populate the control rooms (roof and left/right hand side of the landing bay). I'll be doing some photo tests in the coming days with the small Airfix Orion and the Moebius one also (I still hate how the phone's camera is modifying the angles of the trapeze of the bay:mad:)
Stay tuned...

Thanks Taz and Carlb. Yes, only camera used to post pics here. I plan to use an IPad to film the Orion docking in the bay.
I will have to test certain shots soon; I believe that, as in the movie, the second light trench will not be visible. The set is not deep enough to do so...but that's all conjecture from my part since I haven't tried it yet.
I hope that the IPad doesn't distort the angles of the perspective too much:unsure: Depth of field will certainly be a challenge.
Also, the star field will be rotating...challenge also in terms of blur and how the stars will show/look on screen.

Wow thought Steve Nell was busy but look at this before me a fantastic model or is that real looks realistic to me a true master piece can't wait to see the video of the ship coming in super cool stuff

Thanks kermet; it's appreciated!

Well, after a few tests; I'm a little closer to my goal. .Video tests were unsuccessful; I really need a camera with more than a few add-ons to make sure I can film my sequence properly. The pics you'll see in this post are not too bad. I have to put the trajectory of Orion higher and closer to the ceiling of the landing bay. You see on these that the model is too close to the floor.
I have to amp-up the light representing the sun. The one I had for these pic was on a more yellow light than the bright white light needed to make the shot work.
I'll do another photo shoot tomorrow with a better set-up.

So, better stance and height for the Orion; it's now at equal distance from the top/bottom of the opening. Different light used to mimic the sun...and better results. This time, the pics are in color and in order of arrival.;)

Wow. Epic! Fantastic model.
For lens correction, you could check if RawTherapee has a preset for your phones camera. Last time I used the program the list of lenses was huge, not sure if it included phones though.
