10th doctors Runaway Bride sonic and the Stunt Sonic

Okay, I've finally finished my versions of these props over the summer. Both have sound modules from the 11th doctor sonic in. I know there are many problems and they look poor, but they have been sitting in pockets and generally abused throughout the summer. Hope you all think they are ok.

Its a british version made by polyvine. its a2 part antiquing varnish called crackleur

What's going on with where the blue lens attaches to the head of the sonic? It looks like glue or epoxy showing? Do you have build pictures? They look great.

its good old white tack. I couldn't afford to buy mid blue translucent acrylic and make my own correct lenses so they are just dome from the toys; hence they arent quite right. everything else is scratch built on them. when i get more money i'm going to sort my domes out as well as workign on a few more of them; sliding stunt sonic and another hero tennant. they are quite beaten now so i need to clean them up and remove the white tack thats seeped through, i must have knocked the domes when i took the pics. I have build pics somewhere

I hasten to add none of it has been CNC made, its all produced on my lathe and by my shaper.

That is pretty much the best Season 1 sonic finish I have seen!!!
Thanks for sharing what you used. I need to try some of that out.
Is it fairly durable of did you have to go over it with a thick clear coat?

I used plasti-coat satin varnish on it, about 3 sprays is enough to give it the protection and slightly yellowed aged look that accounts for the prop colour changing. i used a white metal primer base coat for mine which is too white, the varnish ages it nicely. I will do an 11th hour sonic with a grey base coat as the next sonic along with the extending aztec.
unfortunately the power wires just come off so i need to fix the damm thing!
I can see why they like the aztec fixed props now.

I'm currently at uni and had some health problems over this summer which got in the way of me making a batch of parts. I had/ still am planning to make a batch of 10 or so sliding ones. i still need to work on a decent aztec extending one and finish my river song sonic with electronics.
