well, not much of an update, I have a few more 3D projects that I am drafting up, and I currently have something coming to me in the mail that I am excited about (to be posted as soon as it arrives),

But I am starting to put a little something together now, not sure if you can guess what it is from the pics

It´s the working platform right?

The Blueprints show it to have a slight incline

On a side note, I'm not digging the color of the doors when the flash hits it...

I cut up a lot of my scrap wood to give the entrance a more 'natural' ruff look.

that is awesome. I'm trying out printing some parts for a model I'm working on, I hope it turns out half as great as what you've had printed so far. Keep up the good work.

Doors for the Ice Corridors. I did have these doors 3D printed.

and starting to construct those rear corridors. I am noticing that the final look of the original sound stage isn't exactly how they look on the plans. Looking at the screen graps and behind the scene photos, I made little modifications to the halls to closer resemble the sound stage.

That's nice!!!! Are you going to get a 1/48 scale Falcon printed up too :) That would be awesome. :D
When I begin the MF build I will probably get parts of it 3D printed, but certainly not the whole thing, that would break the budget. :)

Thanks guys! I am enjoying the build, even though it's slow. Just a few minutes here and there during my lunch break. So far I am still glad that I am building it in 1/48th scale, any smaller just wouldn't be any fun.

None of the walls are tacked down yet, just getting an idea of how the will layout and lining up where the corridors will go according to the plans.

Made the back wall similar to how I did the front entrance. I will skip the Bondo step as I am not sure it was totally necessary. I placed the droids in the shot to get a sense of scale and how it may look when things start to get near the end of the construction. Next step is adding the 'ice'.

Looking super cool, pun intended LOL. Seriously, with this, the DSII Dio, Jons ATAT, and Baloo's Revell project too, the General modeling section has some serious class right now.

thanks Lee :)

Roughly sculpted some large icicles for the inner ceiling, and added more guitar string along the walls to simulate the cables. I finally tacked down the MF landing area backwall, and the rear halls so I could add the snow.

When I get the camera in there with the flash, it reveals to me the thin areas that will need some touch ups.
