This is an amazing dio! Love it! It's funny how that could also be a Borg cube/sphere portal as well.

Last few weeks I prepared the (still unfinished) model for Spacedays model show (Darmstadt/Germany, last weekend)

I built another Tie and battle-damaged it:

As mentioned above, the model is still unfinished, especially the interior parts, but at least somewhat representative with a quick'n'dirty lighting solution.
Some impressions of it at the show:

Pulling off a dynamic, realistic (sci-fi realistic?)-looking diorama is a tricky balance of elements, but you nailed it so far. One of my favorite scenes from SW, too!

This is brilliant! You've caught the lighting and the dynamics of it very well.
This is one of the best scenes in Star Wars, as Attirex said, it gives me goose bumps even having watched it a thousand times.
Kudos!

Hey, cool to see another one of these... my large 1/144 one is still sitting under plastic since I got the innards and the port finished. Love it!!

Thanks, and thanks for sharing your build some time ago - it was a fantastic motivation that it's doable :D

Glad to see you are on pace to actually finish yours... LOL. Digging the cut-away and especially love the "explosion"...
