PART III: 3D Models and 1/6th and 1/4 Scale Kits!

I did a LOT of work over the holiday weekend on the 1/6th and 1/4 scale kits which meant a LOT of time sitting at the computer. As much as I enjoy it... I hate it because it cuts into actual time working at the shop... oh well...

Anywho... the 1/4 Scale Nav Computer is almost ready for prime time! I will then scale the Nav Com down to 1/6th! This first test kit will be headed to Fuzzual

Lots of panels... but you're also looking at ALL the 1/4 scale cockpit parts as well!

Izzy is also working at getting these 3D models ready to go as well! Flight Yoke

That's a lot of material to remove!

DEF sanding involved to smooth all the edges - but what a beautiful piece of work! WELL DONE, IZZY!

1st coat of primer usually highlights all the areas I missed sanding the first go around

That thing is gorgeous!

The details are amazing!

Izzy also printed these 1:1 scale canopy beam greeblies! The real world item is called a "Teleflex Harness Inertia Reel"

LOVE IT! I can't wait to get these mounted

And a 1/4 scale version!

Time for that "End of the Weekend Update"... In 5 Parts!

Part I: The Canopy

I am amazed at how much work continues on this part! Sanding, filling, sanding, filling... you know the drill!

Vertical beams saw more attention

Another coat of primer

All these little gaps keep popping up

Then I saw all these little areas of attention

Then I laughed... I completely missed filling this entire side of this beam

After 2 coats more coats of primer and hours of sanding... its DEF worth the time and effort! Almost there

Wish you guys/gals could see this up close!

Thanks so much! Izzy is making me look bad with all his continued hard work. His 3D models are only going to compliment what I'm doing and DEF help make me look good. I can't wait to see how these kits turn out once we get the ALPS Printer working!
