as far as that gauge deal-io on the previous page... if you have a habitat for humanity, or some sort of used housing development surplus store that is were i would look for a gauge like that in the outdoor electronics section of these stores, look spicifically for used models of energy meters or gas usage meters. hope that helps or at least gets a few gears rolling around in your crazy 1:1 brain of yours:cool

Fortunately I do have a few of those habitat stores near me. I'll be sure to check them out. I was really surprised Ebay didn't have more... They're usually a gold mine for hard to find parts.

I would argue that in this case, although there will be some modernization the MF will look basically the same. Bringing the original cast back after 30 years needs the continuity and I don't think JJ is the type to not understand that.

I'm going to go so far as to predict the MF will be in THE openning scene! opcorn

Then you see it blown up right before your eyes.......in gasp you wait....suddenly a pair of eyes open wide.....wrinkles around the eyes are dimly seen from the shadow of a hood....cloaking the face....the camera draws out and we see a beared jedi head down from mediating.....his face raise towards the light..ITS......LUKE SKYWALKER...JEDI MASTER.....he has just forseen one possible future...his firends are in danger and he senses it....HARD TO SEE THE FUTURE IS...MUCH UNCERTAINY...he then calls out to Leia whos also on the ship and tell her to tell Han to alter whatever they were gonna do (That would have caused them to perish in his vision) they zig instead of zag...get away and Star Wars Ep 7 is offically started....opcorn

UPDATES!!!!! FINALLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am so friggin thrilled to have these horrible side walls done! They fit like a glove! I'm waiting for the filler to dry and then I will sand and begin painting! YIPEEEEE!!!

Getting ready to skin that sucker!

BAM!

Clean up the edges with some filler, add some paint and a few pinstripes...

That is such a pretty sight... LOL

And now the other side? YES!

Sitting in the sun waiting for filler to dry!

You can really see the wood grain in these pics. I didn't use MDF for these panels so I have A LOT of sanding and filling to do

This is not a criticism, but a comment. It looks smaller than I would have thought it would be. Perhaps 15% -20% smaller.

Did you end up 8' at widest point on the rear wall, or did you go for the reworked Lucas version? 7' 3" was it?

I was surprised in my research to find out the cockpit was as small as it is!

Lucas was obsessed with it being cramped, it seems. Ultimately to the point of being upset with Kershner for making the ESB cockpit bigger.

The plans in ANH showed an 8' cockpit, which was built to specs at one point before filming. But that cockpit was shrunk down by overlapping panels, reducing the diameter of the cockpit seen on screen (which is the cause of the misaligned light strips)
