1:1 Millennium Falcon Cockpit Replica - Group Build

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

With that does anyone remember which novel it was where the government had fully restored the MF for Han and were trying to get him to donate it to the museum? It was I think at the start of the Yuzahn Vong (sp?) series, and Han and Chewie BOTH hated it, they said the MF didn't sound right.

I know at the beginning of the Black Fleet Crisis, the Falcon had a major overhaul...
I have yet to read "Vector Prime", so that is a gap in my EU knowledge.

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

After you've brought this around and made people's lives the better for havong seen this beauty, you should set it up as a home theater. Wire up the console to be the remote... you could watch Star Wars from the Millennium Falcon!

Great idea! I thought it would be a pretty cool flight sim! :)

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

Your stuff always looks good. What are the square "buttons" made out of? Are they glass tiles? Did you have to modify them to get them to be "colors"?

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

Hi Gang,

UPDATES! Another panel down, more switches in place and of course... more to follow!

Penciled in the lines for the pinstriping

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

OK Gang,

Need some opinions... I'm working the panel behind Chewie that has all the sliders. Just below them are a series of illuminated meters. I'm not sure how to approach this. I have a few ideas.

The first is using this simple plastic part. I will either paint it silver or black and then print out a "meter" and slide it behind

The other is this computer piece. Same idea - just a larger opening (side by side)

Same computer part with a back panel - this would negate the "meter" reading print

Your thoughts?

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

I believe it's they're the white backlit bits with the red stripe behind Liea's head in this shot, no?

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

Thanks maruska!

I think that the longer choice (currently silver) is the better choice. The Displays seem to have a more "Widescreen" aspect ratio.

How a line of iPhones for real working displays? I'm sure we could whip-up a "meter" app!

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

...or maybe an LCD with a custom bevel. You could hook a raspberry pi up to it with a little looping video of displays going. I think that would be considerably cheaper than several iPhones.

Just a thought...

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

How about some of those LCD photo key rings. You can load pictures and it cycles through them. I bet they're a lot cheaper than the other options.

For my computer display in my TARDIS console I intend to use one of those medium size Digital picture frames. It will basically run a custom screen saver of "TARDIS like" graphics. It's a lot cheaper and more practical than a full fledged computer. Just a thought.

Yeah, the iPhone thing was just being funny - but there are a ton of cheap display options out there.

The LED's would be a fun Arduino-like project. I use one to light-up the dashboards on cardboard box spaceships my daughter and I make.
