1:1 Millennium Falcon Cockpit Replica - Group Build

Hey guys, I have been following this build since I can remember (when it was mostly on the fullscalefalcon site) and just for fun, I went back to page one and started reading through. To remember and see that it all started with the console, just this raw plywood thing, and now you have a full scale cockpit, along with several smaller scale ones, its just amazing! Really cool that it is all basically documented so that someone can go through and see the full breadth of trying to learn how to build a replica of a spaceship in full scale from nothing more than stills from a movie. Its just stunning!!!

I think you should take a pause from this one and build a tie fighter cockpit real quick!!! Just a thought, and then maybe the rest of the tie fighter. Just an idea.

Great construction video. I thought small cockpits require hard work. This is a real long inspiring journey showing tricks of the trade. Thanks

Kevweez,
Your summary of SofaKing01’s cockpit building is beautifully stated. I too have gone back and started reading this “tome.“

Hey K,

Thanks so much for taking the time to read through all the chaos, fun and adventures we've had with this build. It's frustrating that it's not finished yet, but we're getting there!

There are plans to build other props to include another full scale, but not complete cockpit - more on that later). A full scale TIE cockpit would be fun! Fortunately for me, I've got a guy who has already tackled the hard part. : )

Thanks again and stay tuned for more updates!

SofaKing, I assume that life has got you very busy, but thought I would ask...any updates on any of the builds? Its been a while since we've heard anything!

Hey K,

You have assumed correct! I have not been to the shop in almost 4 months. Unfortunately, there were a lot of personal things going on and I hit a wall - I was exhausted! I needed to take a few steps back and check out for a while. I'll eventually get back out there to finish the cockpit - we're SO CLOSE to finishing.

I appreciate the continued interest and I love you all! We'll get it finished up... I promise that! : )

Take a Falcon seat Greg; you deserve it:cool::cool:(y)(y):notworthy::notworthy::notworthy::notworthy: You and the gang did an extraordinary job on that cockpit build and sometimes life has a tendency to take precedence over anything else; we understand perfectly. In the mean time we'll wait patiently to see it live again through your skill and workmanship;)

Hey JB,

I appreciate the continued kindness and the words of encouragement! This is why you will always have a seat in the captain's chair!

Just wanted to let you know that Sofaking01 is getting back to work on the Falcon. Talked with the other day and wanted to share some of the pics.
