Hi Gang,
I am DESPERATELY trying to figure out what is going on with Photobucket and why their site continues to freeze up. Not sure if it's my browser or the issues are on their side...
I've got some great images from this last weekend's show so... Stand by!
Photobucket has acted up with me lately too. Could be a site issue (or we're just both unlucky).
I have a bad feeling about this...
I switched to Flickr because it seemed that Photobucket had been hacked. It was an easy transition and Flickr is a way better interface!

Let the setup begin!
If you notice... Mitch has completely redesigned the canopy! Although not finished, there is so much more detail!
You can begin to see the canopy details emerge!
It feels like forever since I've seen the ol girl!
I can't wait to greeblie up the canopy!
All it needs is a starfield!

Saturday night I went out to dinner with Philip Wise of The Force.net and Rebel Scum! He was nice enough to take me on a tour of his shop / collection! Unfortunately, the camera was kept at a minimum...

The most amazing thing I saw that night... A screen used DS turret! AMAZING!
It was a great show and, as always, we met some of the most amazing people! A HUGE thanks to Ken & Mitch for their continued work on the cockpit and a special thanks to Philip Wise and Jason for their generous hospitality and a tour of the shop! It was amazing!!!

Fellow RPFer, and friend of the Cockpit Build, Fuzzual created the minion R2! Fully automated and 1/3 the scale!

Time for that "Illusive End of the Weekend Update"
Work on the 1/6th & 1/4 scale Console Kits continues to move in a positive direction!
This kit is going to our own RPFer Fuzz!
More work on the 1/4 scale nav chair head pieces
Applied filler to the window
I finally brought the console back to the shop and set into place!
I FINALLY paid some attention to the interior side of the nose and adhered the floor
Just like everything else... it dried slightly off center and out of place :facepalm
FILLER! Yeah...
Still looks cool!
This was one of the Sneak Peek images I posted. I laid a single sheet of styrene across the entire canopy!
I then laid a second layer of styrene but left my phone in the car and didn't get any images (shame on me)... After I cut out the window I sanded the edges and added LOTS of filler. ONE more layer of styrene to go and the canopy and window edges meet up and align perfectly!
I had a concern that the styrene would begin to make the beams look too thick... Again, it goes back to the fact that the interior and exterior models/props simply did NOT align with each other so several sacrifices had to be made
One more layer of styrene to go!
Still have to address this slight warping at the bottom
I then laser cut the nose flooring - the heat from the laser cutter LOVES to warp acrylic
I pit the console back into place
Took a few beauty shots
Love this angle...
And this is where we are!

Your scale models really shows hos the original deign shines!
OH MAN! I can't get over how clean and smooth those edges are! GORGEOUS!

Great job Sofa!! It's going to be more and more difficult to see if the pics you're gonna post are that of the full scale cockpit or these pics

NOT SURE what's going on but the RPF will NOT let me post anything with more than 20 images... Getting a few errors as well?
PART I
Time for the "End of the Weekend Update"! Didn't do much work on the actual 1/4 scale model. I've been spending a LOT of time on the "Instruction Manual" for the upcoming 1/4 and 1/6 scale console kit!
But... the work I did do... Enjoy!
I ordered some 2x2x250mm square ABS plastic rod
As many of you know I tried to laser cut the window trim to no avail... so will the ABS work?
Looks pretty good so far!
I then turned my attention back to the canopy. I sanded all the filler and sprayed a layer of 3M adhesive to both the the canopy and fresh sheet of styrene
After I laid the styrene and cut out the windows (didn't want to bore you with that again) I once again took to the ABS and started to trim out the windows
A few areas to fix... No biggie
It looks REALLY thin but the trim is to scale
I will probably wind up skinning the sides of the canopy beams
I then added primer... naturally!
Still lots of sanding, filling and fixing to do!
The final layer of styrene added to the body aligned with the front window almost perfectly!
