1:1 Millennium Falcon Cockpit Replica - Group Build

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

This is amazing...simply amazing. I can't even imagine the cost and time...Love ideas like this for my theater room, but my wife would kill me!

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

Are they going to move this thread to the "Star Wars Costumes & Props" area? They moved mine today and I had to dig around a little bit to find it. It's on the menus under a new dropdown called "Popular Franchises". So if this one moves, we'll know where to find it.

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

Hi Gang,

Work continues this morning... I FINALLY created the mold for the sliders... and all the new rockers are ready to go onto their respective panels :)

It will be several hours before I can start casting...

I was hoping to get some vids in... but no use in taking a video of a shell of a cockpit... Maybe tomorrow???

Looking good. How much have you put into it so far? If you don't mind me asking.

Hi DB,

I haven't really kept track of what I've spent... I keep track of the account and make sure it doesn't go below a certain amount. I really don't know... :)

Insane dedication. Really. Love it!

Hi Rylo,

Thanks! It's definitely become a part of me. Despite my sometimes wanting to let it roll down the driveway and crash into a huddled mass... I really want to see it completed! I think the word "insane" best describes this project.

I've been loving this build! Wonderful work, cant wait to see it finished. Not sure if you had these.

Hi D,

OOOOO... good find! Haven't seen the one with AD. There's a clear shot of the yoke base and the greeblies attached - very odd combination of greeblies. But lots to work with! THANKS! And thank you for the kind words. I can't wait to see it finished, too! :)

Hi S,

Thanks so much! It's been almost 1.5 years so far... and the cost... I have no idea. As I mentioned to another member... when it comes GFs or spouses... it's easier to ask for "forgiveness" than it is permission. ;)

Eww, I can see C-3P0's insides.

Now that's funny! :lol

Hey DJ,

Your guess is as good as mine... I'll find out soon enough??? :)

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

Hey... in the first pic in the first post of this thread, the yokes look like they're attached to the floor, but in the AD pic, it looks like they're attached to the Control panel... is one from ESB and the other from ROTJ?

Hey Y,

From what we can tell, they (whoever "they" are) changed the configuration right before filming. It made more sense because there was VERY little room in the pit to begin with. But changes were made even during production...

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

Hi Gang,

An early start... an early update...

All the sliders have been cast

The different colors shows I wasn't very accurate with my measurements... (the lighter the better)

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

Hi Gang,

The sliders are ALMOST finished. And, I completely forgot I had to fill all the holes on the canopy beams...

Hi Gang,

The sliders are ALMOST done!

I was thinking about adding this single slider off to the right... it's not screen accurate but it looks kinda cool :)

I'm headed to the home improvement store. I'm going to bolt them into place. They are already glued down but I can see them snapping off - I know the rocker knobs will pop off from time to time...

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

Hi Gang,

The sliders are coming along... I decided to paint the inside of the slider black to help make them pop... of course this created more work...

Now I have to paint over the mistakes...

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

Hi Gang,

The sliders are now bolted in place... still not sure how to adhere the rocker knobs...

First drilled a pilot hole then drilled a larger hole to avoid cracking / splitting

Add some stainless steel bolts...

You know... a 4 day weekend... I should have had more done than just this???

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

I don't know why i am excited about non-sliding, sliding rockers....but I am!!
Looks "functional"!

Keep it up!

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica
