UPDATES! Well.... Panel #5!

After salvaging only two pieces from the original, I scraped the rest...

Then slowly began to build panel #5... I can do these in my sleep!

Still some trimming and sanding to do but I'm letting everything dry in place so there is NO shifting

Nice perfect edge... no painting or sanding necessary

Sanded and filled more of the door frame

Storms are expected tomorrow but another nice weekend is ahead! Let's hope for some real movement forward!

LOL I did stomp on it a few times! It was nice especially after feeling like the project had been giving me a couple of "One-Two" punches for these last few panels... But I refused to let it get the best of me!

Starkiller will be making a few mods to the throttle greeblies so I can begin making molds! Lot's of "behind the scenes" stuff going on!

Hi Gang,

I got an early start on this weekends build...

Cut the top of the door frame off and finished off the panels

Lots of sanding, filling and primer to come

I can't wait to add the paint and padding!

I'm not going to bore you with ANY of the paint and pinstripes for this panel... But she's getting there

NICE WORK! How fast do you think she will go, when she's done? (Possible answer: as fast as she will go downhill , on casters if it gives you anymore grief!) Just kidding...I hope. Can't wait to see the finish. Just a thought...Have you considered rear projection against the cock pit windows showing the star blur effect at the jump to light speed? I know it's an expense but how cool would that be? Alternative would be a static poster of a star field and digital sound effect from the movie where Chewie has to effect repairs and it sounds like a dying washing machine grinding to a halt. Just food for the imagination.:devil

Everytime I see something in your driveway I think of a kid riding his bike and glancing into an open garage door to see that cockpit!lol:lol he'd probably be slack-jawed and hit a parked car ( I would :lol) looking great :thumbsup
BTW My wife thinks the taxi idea is great, as long as its a functional street legal car .
Our vehicle shopping parameters are now geared towards body style, the conversion will be a long process (as you know)
