it dawned on me (along with a mounting panic) that if abrams really is going to direct the new ones, he might do to the Falcon what he did to the Enterprise... I feel a little nauseous even contemplating it.
But if he does, the hell with it, we'll always have Sofaking's outstanding build.

I doubt it. Star Trek 11+ is a re-imagining. Star Wars 7 will be a continuation. I wouldn't be surprised though if Han has added a few more "special modifications" over the years. It would only make sense, but I hope he hasn't gone too hog wild with the changes. :confused I'm also curious to see if the Falcon's dish will be the same, the one Lando knocked-off while flying inside the "Death Star 2".

I don't think JJ A will reimagine the MF. That would be suicide! I think several other ships might be redesigned. I would LOVE to see the Ralph Mcquarrie concept XWing become a reality!

It will be fun to see the Falcon again after +/-32 years on the big screen, IF it appears, and if it does, I hope it won't be a stinkin' CGI mess, and that Han is given at least one more crack at flying her... Also hoping that he won't look to be 102... :behave

That one phrase "... made a lot of special modifications..." scares me just a little. The cockpit changed from ANH thru ROTJ - with ESB being the best (IMO). I'm very curious to see what the next generation of designers do - if they decide to play off that "phrase".

What were the changes made in ROTJ? I know in ESB that they extended the cockpit (thanks to this and the CG model thread), but I was unaware of changes made in ROTJ.

From what I can see it was minor greeblie changes - no structural changes at all. I might be wrong. I'm sure the experts will / can weigh in.

Hi Gang,
It doesn't look like much but I sanded all the holes so all the switches fit! I also painted all the switch "head" silver and I'm working on the pesky rocker knobs!

After you've brought this around and made people's lives the better for havong seen this beauty, you should set it up as a home theater. Wire up the console to be the remote... you could watch Star Wars from the Millennium Falcon!

With that does anyone remember which novel it was where the government had fully restored the MF for Han and were trying to get him to donate it to the museum? It was I think at the start of the Yuzahn Vong (sp?) series, and Han and Chewie BOTH hated it, they said the MF didn't sound right.
