1:1 Millennium Falcon Cockpit Replica - Group Build

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

In this case I vote bigger is better :thumbsup . For a promo piece it will be more difficult to move to cons, but I think bigger will get more attention and more space may prevent accidental breakage from people "touring" the cockpit.
Easy for my to say :lol I'm just a cheerleader, you have to do the building and consider the moving part!
It's looking really great so far :)

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

I would say definitely bigger. When it's on display if you're going to let people pose in it for pictures it would be nice to have a little space for more people. I also agree if it's too tight people will be bunping into your hard work!!!

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

Empire's Cockpit for me. We got more familiar with this version because more angles and more shots were filmed into that. Plus more space=more details for the people to see.(more hard work for you tho :( )
Whatever you decide its going to be groundbreaking :)

As Devil's advocate I'd say if your plan was to make the ANH cockpit then stick with that. However, more room isn't a bad thing either as others have mentioned. :)

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

Yes on the extra room. Especially if you use it as a fund raising method. People could recreate the scenes with Han Leia Luke and Chewie in the cockpit, maybe have one of those cheesy cutouts they can stick their head through? Just thinking out loud.

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

Th' Greeblie in question was on th' MF, XWing, and Snowspeeder jk. Actually th' one /w/ th' circuit board on it. Some think it's a flipped console for a Gremlin or AMC, an th' weird circuit board someone thought it was th' bottom of a transmission. Th' 501st forums are mostly Empire related someone there might know. Happy huntin' keep up th' great work brah. :p

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

I've been looking at all the screen grabs and it appears it's only a 12-15 inches. I think it would be a good idea to go ahead and add them. You guys are correct... more room the better for photo ops... :)

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

Hi Gang,

I was thinking about the addition of the ESB panels... If I do this right I can make it so we can either display the ANH or ESB version while creating only ONE canopy. Unless my thinking cap isn't screwed tight enough... since the side walls (that I have to rebuild anyway) will bolt to either the ANH/ESB cockpit panels, the length, width and height of the canopy remains the same - it would be just a matter of moving it forward/backward since it would "technically" bolt to the side walls.

Does this make sense? I'd like your opinions / thoughts

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

Yeah, I think you're absolutely right, you should just be able to move the canopy and nose forward to accommodate the extra panels, and they could easily be swappable.

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

Ok boys and girls...Got the quote back from classiccarseats.com

To make a pair of screen accurate falcon seats...Suede microfiber fronts, matching leatherette back, the pattern and stitching of Maruska's seat renders...

$750 each...Grand total with shipping and handling would be just over $1700.00 for two.

Honestly not too bad a price for totally custom seats...What say ye?

Should I send this to Chris Lee as well?

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

Awesome work on this project. I have always loved the falcon's interior. I even contemplated re-decorating my home theatre in a falcon theme.

Re: 1:1 Millennium Falcon Console Replica

Hi Gang,

I have never been so far into a project yet been SO TEMPTED to chuck the whole thing into the garbage! These side walls are kicking me in the *****!!! 1 step forward... 10 steps back... Since getting the new measurements... NOTHING has lined up and wanted to fit together... I've had 4 days off with the hopes to get ALL the panels finished and I have only ONE panel to show for 3 days work... UGH!!!! OK... I'm finished with my belly ache... :)

This is where it stands after 3 friggin' days...

Hi Gang...

Welll Murphy had it in for me but I managed to get through the weekend. I'm still not ahead of the curve but I did get a few things done... Enjoy!
