1:1 Cylon Card model project NBSG

If you need any other help with the modeling. I'll be happy to lend a helping hand!

What exactly are you worried about? All I know is that thinking too much about copyright and the like is akin to thinking about time travel, it screws with ya head. :lol

ES, are you still interested in doing some modeling on this? I've worked on this since the last update and hope to have some build photos up soon. Let me know if you're still up for this. I've got a lot going on and could use the assistance.

Still caught in the puttying, sanding, shaping repeat loop. It does seem to be shaping up, so to speak. I started working on the right side some more to get it to match the left, now I need to get after it with the dremel and start working my way down some more. I'm going to beef up the jaw blades and align them today. I'll probably start modifying the visor as well.

Well.... Did a little work on the Cylon recently... I'm working out exactly how to correct the visor and then conform things from there down, so I decided to mark off lines and match them with the actual model. Yeah I know this seems like a lot of work, but really, I've got less than thirty dollars into this including the primer, paint and fiberglass. That doesn't include everything, because frankly this is a hobby, so I don't mark down my time.

In the last picture I was marking out the changes I was going to make and where I was going to cut.

I've just got one photo to show this time, but I think it's a beaut. Yes, I know of course the model / helmet / head still needs work and modification, but I just had to shoot it with some chrome after additional sanding shaping and smoothing. It's come a long way from the original mesh and card model.

It's really nice that you think so. Are you still interested in helping out with the mesh? There has been a lot of improvement since the photo that you decided to highlight. What do you think now? I'm getting ready to extend the contours on the back and adjust some of the rest. Any ideas, suggestions?

lol, That would be my fault my friend. I had asked the mods to move the thread in order to get better exposure. You've got the basis of a fantastic 1:1 Cylon centurion and i wanted you to get the best exposure possible. I hardly go to the paper forums so I'd hate for anyone else to miss it too!

This is just too cool not to see!

This thing is looking awesome. Are you going to put electronics into it? I don't have the patience for pepakura so I envy what you got here already. As for the 3d file, is it a NURBS or MESH? I primarily work with NURBS but i'll give it a shot.

Interesting story btw, what a fascinating perspective you have on my job. :lol

Yes, I'll be adding eye electronics and voice sounds, though I don't remember that the NBSG cylons ever said anything. The original model was done by Big Skip, modified by SJS and you can see what I've been doing.
It started, as far as I know, as an .mqo, but don't quote me on that, it could have been ripped from a video game model.

I'm not quite sure what you're reffering to with regards to your job?

Are you still working on this project? I've downloaded the pepakura file, but am a bit lost on how to put it together as there are no numbers or anything on the tabs. This is my first attempt at using a pepakura, so it could just be my 'newness' at it.
