1:1 Arnold from Terminator 2 - Partial Mannequin Display WIP

Steve, here are pics of my Arnie Bust as I worked on the Hair. As you can see, the hairline is crucial, and of course a good haircut.

Wow guys!

Thanks so much for the additional shots. Very very helpful indeed.

I can see why the hairline is crucial to the finish now.

Proper Sig eh? Impressive!

Thanks again for you time.

Steve :)

BUMP.

Come on PHArchivist!

I thought you were going to swing me some photo reference. Or were you just teasing!? :p

Cheers

Steve

OK. I am officially gobsmacked! Those shots are stunning. Thank you so much....and I was only teasing :thumbsup

Your contribution is much appreciated indeed.!

Steve

I know you were! ;) Happy to help!

There are lots more from where those came from. The first two were from the Beverly Hills PH, the third was from San Diego. I have shots of these statues from about 20 Planet Hollywood restaraunts.

Hey Guys

Hope you are all well. Small update on this one as real life stuff has been getting in the way a bit. Namely, getting married in 4 weeks time.....yikes!

Anyway, now I have his body at the desired bulkiness, I have decided to remove the bust from the body and start preparation for painting. I have drilled out his human eye, installed the cheek pistons, endo eye and endo bearings around the eye.

The shots of the PH Arnold earlier in this thread from PH Archivist and Ob1al have proven invaluable to this project - thanks guys!

I have trimmed him up, dremeled any flash and primed him ready. I have also roughly trimmed a wig to roughly the right shape. It is NOT fixed yet. Just placed on for the WIP shots.

I realise his hair is still a little too long, but I was verging on the side of caution at this stage (I've already ruined one wig by cutting it too short!). Plus I have noticed that the PH Arnolds have slightly longer hair than the film Arnold.

Don't ask me why, but I like that.

It took me 2 hours to trim this hair to what you see. It started out a a Bee Gee wig and was very long and thick! :lol

This is different hair to the wig earlier in the thread - I have opted for synthetic now, it's more the right shade of brown. I couldn't get the other one to dye correctly.

Cheers

Steve

I think its looking great thus far, but methinks the hairline should be about 1/2 - 1" lower ....

Too much Fo'head... :lol

Cheers dude. Yep, agreed. The hair is only placed on right now but the hairline does need to be lower.

Cheers

I took this pic when I visited Stan Winston studios 2 years ago. My wifes cousin is Shane Mahan :D

If you don't know who that is, you should. He only sculpted most of all the Terminator heads including the Endo skull.

I am hoping to someday cast and offer copies of the following head someday if there is any interest.

Holy smoke. What an excellent shot! Thanks so much. And YES, Shane, John and Stan are like gods to me! :love

I can't believe you went to visit. You are such a lucky devil!

Thanks again for the shots....and get that Linda Hamilton head moulded! I WANT ONE!!!!

Steve

Quick update. Face was masked with tape and fluid last night. Then sprayed with gloss black, then chrome paint. I've left it to harden now. Once hardened - I will start masking for flesh tones.

Cheers, Steve

OK. Been painting today. Thought I'd drop an update.

Now...go easy on me guys :) This is my first attempt at flesh tones, so I'm still learning.

Obviously it's still not finished. Lots of sponging work and blood detail to come. But I had to get his gear on to see how he looks.

PH, email sounds a good idea for the images. My upload limit is 5mb though. So that could be a problemo.

Maybe you could do me a 'Planet Hollywood best of' mix?

I'm going to the London PH next month. Hope the Arnie is still there.

Comments appreciated on this WIP. Cheers guys

A mixture of both actually. The base flesh colour was sprayed with my iwata. Also some darker areas too. Some highlights were also sprayed and sponged. Tiny details like the creases in his eye were done with tiny brushes.

Looking at him now, I think he looks too.....pink? Flesh tones are so difficult aren't they? Depends on the light in the room you are painting etc.. but |I feel there needs to be more a 'creaminess' to his skin?

Make sense?

I didn't want to go overboard with shadows and highlights and the end result I wanted was that of your bust Imp Knight and that of PHArchivist's bust.

Really natural looking.

Any advice would be recieved greatly :)

Steve

Steve, one of our own resident Airbrush Artist painted my Arnie, streetjudge79. I would love to get into painting, if I could only find the time.
