“There and Back Again; A Mystery Chunk Tale”

nice work chris!!!! pcbs have accidentally become my thing and I've been trying to pinpoint (ba dum tiss) those specific solder leads ever since.

This is the closest I’ve found. Replica on the saber and a real card that isn’t exact.

Is this the board that I've also got? Yeah, it's SOOOO CLOSE, it's nuts.

But I for one am DONE looking at boards! Man I spent a good couple years looking at circuit boards, and found what Chris found, and some VERY close contenders for the Hero board. But I'm burnt the eff out on it all.

Ok people... just as a quick FYI:

I will be posting a block of about 20 chunks give or take in the JY next week after the Labour Day long weekend. These chunks will be available in the JY only and not on FaceBook or anywhere else.

Please do NOT PM me prior to this as I will ignore your PMs at best and at worst, add you to a do not sell to list.

I will be limiting the quantity of chunks available to any single purchaser to three chunks to allow for as many RPFers the opportunity to get a chunk who wants one. It will be first come, first served.

Why so long?
  1. Well for one thing these things are a b***h to get off the boots and I've just barely finished getting the chunks off of one boot let alone two
  2. I still need to go to the post office to buy bubble mailers and labels (and factor those into the cost)
  3. I still need to figure out what shipping costs will be - I'm in Canada so unfortunately shipping is probably going to be a few dollars more than what my US counterparts can ship for
Given the 'grades' that have been presented, these would all be considered "A" grade chunks. Almost all the chunks have some oxidation on them so they are not quite NOS but none of them appear to have any wear on the pyramids.

These will also, unfortunately, not priced at what teecrooz or BBRogers or Scott have been able to sell their's for: my boots came at a bit more of a premium than their purchases and as mentioned, shipping across the boarder is going to be a little more expensive.

I'm anticipating that the cost per chunk shipped will be max $20 USD, but I'm hoping that I can get that number lower once I can get the supplies and price everything out.

Stay tuned!

Thanks for the heads up - much appreciated!

Anakin Starkiller made an amazing V2 kit and I wanted to accurize my kit with the new findings. It works, and is really cool to watch it happen. I think other people have done this, i just am slow on things sometimes

I am in awe how you all handled this! my thanks. I only hope I can get 1 or 2 chunks e=when they become available.

Does it fit without modifying the existing hole?
Oh god, im sorry everyone. Thats a real one next to the hilt. I hand-filed the AS chunk with the texture and sculpted the mystery chunk knurling.

Havent cleaned and installed a real one yet, waiting for a new V2 someday

Ah no problem. I thought it looked awfully clean and silvery to be a original chunk but thought maybe you had some some polishing on it or something.

I've just been giving them a quick spray with high heat black, then a quick spray of rust-oleum stainless steel. Little bit of dark brown acrylic warshes, then I lightly brush with a brass brush to dull it down.

I'm currently printing an even NEWER version, with a slightly resized chunk, just a hair smaller, and both styles will have the flattened center pyramid.
