Yes.. .yes, I do... I was 10 in 1977 ... oh, don't forget, there was another way to relive the film: Topps Bubble Gum Cards! I spent my weekly allowance on nothing but Star Wars cards! and I still have all of them.. .complete sets and some of the stickers. The Star Wars Poster Monthly too... those are the days.... now, I have the same feeling with ESB being that I was all but turning 13, you still couldn't see either film after it left the theater and you still only had the cards, action figures and magazines... ESB was great because at the time I lived on the border of Canada and it was cold and snowy... it made living through long winters bearable and more fun because now you lived on HOTH and you could imagine riding Tauntauns, avoiding Imperial Probe Droids, battling AT-AT Walkers and slashing off the arm of an occasional wampa!... yes, those are the days... then Return of the Jedi happened... I was 16 and more into girls and not so much into muppets and teddy bears.Remember when there was only ONE movie? Remember a movie that was just about a boy wanting to get off the farm and have some adventure? Remember when Vader seemed like just a muscled henchman? Remember when you had no pictures and you had to just try to remember what the spaceships looked like and what they did on screen? Remember when the only way you had to relive the movie was to listen to the soundtrack. Anyone remember that time?
Sometimes I wish it had just been left at that. As much as I love TESB, these days I would almost be willing to sacrifice it and everything else SW related, if Star Wars could have just remained what is was -- the coolest thing a 12 year old country boy in 1977 had ever seen, and one whose life would never be the same again.
I still don't find the "small galaxy" argument convincing in regards to the PT, I think it was the correct creative choice for the story being told and I still think the EU created an expectation of the films being able to have such a broad brush. That was an expectation that could never be satisfied. Unless GL made the choice to mold the PT in a similar vein as PJ did for his Tolkien adaptations (and with films of that length) then it makes sense we got what we got.
No way - The prequels squandered another opportunity. Anakin building C3P0 and the constant return to Tatooine was pathetic. He made the big universe small.
Way. The PT was the story GL wanted to tell. You can disagree with the choices but nothing was squandered.
I'm hoping for some Mandalorian action in the next movie, or any other kind of Bountyhunter action, not that it's anything official I'm sharing here but these two , are among my favorite actor suggestions for Episode 7....focussing on a Mandalorian Clan as part of Episode 7 could add some great content.
Small tidbit of news:
STAR WARS 7 Leaks, Guardians of the Galaxy & Pokémon: Nerdist News w/ Jessica Chobot - YouTube
Model makers signing 7 year contracts..... :thumbsup
Hehe. They're using clips from the best version of "A New Hope".
*THUMB! UP!
You do make an interesting point with the western movie icons/Mandalorians, I didn't really think about it that way, but regardless of how cool a theory it is, I don't see it working very well in the context of the movies.@ Lutso, don't worry about it, as far as the Clint Eastwood Cowboy character.......I remember guys like Franco Nero(Django, not that Jamie Foxx flick) and other great western characters played by John Wayne, Henry Fonda, James Coburn, James Fransiscus, (even Shalako with Sean Connery), maybe not as big as Clint, but they had their own part in Western Movie History. So if you're comparing the Fetts to Eastwood , there might also be Mandos or other kinds of bountyhunters based on other western Icons, why not.I like the idea very much , if it's done in a great way, a new band/brotherhood of Bountyhunters they don't have to be Mandalorians specificaly, but I like the Bountyhunter idea very much.It doesn't have to be all lightsabers all the time, or another badge of armytroopers, soo cliché , I want to see something fresh in a Star Wars Universe, but with recognizable aspects.I'm Willing to give Disney the Benefit of the Doubt, I'm saying Disney instead of Abrams, or they might aswell call it Abramsfilm instead of Lucasfilm right?
Yeah cool Jeyl!
Master Adywan rules!
J
Jessica rules!
As for the non-Jedi characters though, I agree with you 100% on that, and I think you'll find most people around here do as well...we are all tired of Jedi and clones.
I am not one of those people who are sick of Jedi, in fact I find them fascinating and awesome. I'm sure there will be plenty of non-Jedi characters in Ep VII, but if you're looking for a Star Wars film completely devoid of Jedi, you'll probably be waiting for a LONG time, I'm sorry to say.
She can talk about all the movies and games she wants, but I'll be danged if I accept her as a good part of them.

Bad voice acting, character pretty much exists solely for indulgence and the thought that BioWare actually put effort into replicating her face over creating an in-game face for Tali. Oooo, you were definitely one of the problems Jess.
