How Accurate are these Regal Robot Holy Grails ?

Hello there. I've always been very happy with my grail from FanbiltProps on Etsy.

That said, I know the shape on it is not quite right (namely the width of the opening and width of the base). I do love its paint job though. So the new Regal Robot one has me intrigued and I’d been considering upgrading. I'm curious as to whether you were able to make a determination on its accuracy. From looking at your pics, the Regal Robot looks to me to be the closest (and pretty much spot on) in terms of size and shape, when comparing it to the pic of the purported hero in the LF prop book and the best screencaps I’ve been able to grab (all posted below). Even the horizontal groove lines on the RR one, which I didn’t know were there until I started looking at screencaps, appear correct to me based on the screencaps. Curious to hear what everyone else thinks.

If you wanna go for screen accuracy the RR is definitely the best option having held all 3 in hand (I since sold my RJ). The shape, the height and even the thickness are right on. It's also the only version I'm aware of that has those wide grooves which you wouldn't notice probably unless you paid a lot of attention (the RJ version has very thin grooves). The paint job is probably accurate too but the colors are more faded than you would expect even compared to RJ or that archives pic but they studied one of the original props and they're very good at what they do so I'm sure they wouldn't have messed it up.

The only downside to it I guess (other than price and limited availability) is the weight - cast resin can't compete with real clay, and the RJ feels heavy and real in hand and is probably the second best option in my opinion.

I can agree with the weight in hand being a little disappointing in RR, but it's a phenomenal display piece.

I have the RR one and while it’s pretty nice the thing I can’t stand about it is the fact that there’s print lines at the top. At least that’s what I think they are. Thinking of getting the restauraJones one to replace it…

I just looked at mine and I have those lines as well. Now I can't unsee it. I guess I'll be contacting them as well. Darthbauer what number is yours?Mine is 208.

I too was a little disappointed with the weight, but oh, well, it's going to sit on the shelf 99.9% of the time.

Did a little video on mine. Overall it seems really nice...

I got 227, so we are close to each other. Wonder if it’s a batch thing.

Wow, for that money AND for the hassle of having to ship it back, well looks like Regal Robot has just dropped down a few notches imo

They're replacing mine. They said the lines are from the 3D scan, so not print lines. But still, shouldn't not have been there in the final product.

That's weird......they should have seen them during painting and weathering process !!!
