Ennis House Tiles from Blade Runner

You can dilute your silicone with naphta also (50% naphta -50% silicone) when the first coat is all dry, then you'll cut your naphta at 40%-60% silicone and the last coat should be 25% naphta - 75% silicone. As for the design of the tile, you're doing well!

It looks great, but wouldn't it of been easier to just buy a vacuformed one off of eBay?:lol

Something tells me in Tunisia it's easier to get olive oil than naptha!

So, I've had a few people ask for the exact measurements. Here is how I did it.

I had downloaded a picture someone else took of a tile from the FLW Foundation. I can't find who it was or I'd credit them...so if you know tell me, please.

Then, in Photoshop, I removed all of the lens distortion, corrected for tilt, etc. and set the size at exactly 40.6cm or 16". Then, I tuned on the rulers, and pulled reference lines to each distance I was trying to replicate.

ennishousetilesconemix.jpgI just made one using scone mix. Preparation time was minimal but I feel that the mix is inadequate for the rendering of fine details.

On a serious note though. Can anyone recommend a technique for moulding sheets of polystyrene over a wooden master that is relatively low cost?
