Fallout 4 Prop Thread

Couple progress shots of the mkIV model I'm working on in Rhino. Thinking of building it around a 3.5" Screen and Rassberry Pi. I still don't have a good reference shot of the back bottom edge of the Pip-Boy where the hinge is. The hard area to model is going to be the front curved faces and clasp. I think I'm starting to dial in the scale and relationships though finally, so I thought I'd share what I've been up to.

If you are successful with this Pip-boy, would you consider doing a run of them?

They are really low quality, but does this help any?

While I know that the Pipboy from F3 wouldn't be a "Fallout 4" prop technically, I'm wondering if anybody will make some Fallout 3 pipboys that will fit the same mobile device as Bethesda's pipboy, so you can use the second screen app with it.

Not sure, but does skruffy still do his castings? Would that work? I hear good things...

anyone know if the new 10mm pistol is based off of anything? it looks really cool, i think its a nice update to the oriiginal rectangualr design.

I don't think it's based off of a real gun, traditionally the 10mm has always been "it's own thing" in Fallout.

Honestly, I'm torn half and half on this one. The new one does look cool, but I'm disappointed they changed it. I rather liked the boxy, over-tactical look of the previous one. While it would be impractical as a carry pistol in real life, it just looks beefy, and fits well in this series.

Funny thing I noticed playing Fallout 1 a couple weeks ago...........if you look close enough, you'll see that the original 10mm pistol was in fact a revolver. It sports an autoloader look in the body, but look close and you'll see the cylinder sticking out the side.

Actually in Fallout 3 and FNV, the 10mm pistol bares some resemblance to the desert eagle, especially the sights and the slide but yeah for the most part, it has it's own look.

Yeah, the base framework for the F3 version is based off of that of a desert eagle. I was talking about the new one not being based off of a real gun. And even then I'm not sure, but I don't believe it is.

I was thinking it looks a bit too much like the settler pistol in the game rage. (Which was also made in part by bethesda.) Immediately in seeing the gameplay it put me off. I also liked the 10 mil from Fallout 3. It fit. This one in a sense seems 'too practical.' Though the one in Rage is a revolver.

it does kind of look like that, although personally it reminded me a bit more of this gun from battlestar galactica

I just uploaded this last night on thingiverse. Here the link http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:905534

Its the 10mm pistol seen in the footage from the Bethesda conference. I created it from screen shots I had taken from the conference and the model is 3D printable and breaks down into a handle full of parts for easy assembly. The current model is basically a solid assembly but I'm currently working on making the receiver recoil and a usable trigger.

Hello everyone I thought you guys might want to see the Fallout 4 prop I just finished yesterday. The scattered automatic laser rifle made from eva foam, pvc, and some wood. I still need to complete the scope, but I'm going to wait until I go to tapplastics and get a piece of clear acrylic to use for the sights.IMG_5491.jpgIMG_9286.jpgIMG_1766.jpgIMG_0559.jpgIMG_3890.jpgIt has a working reload mechanism that you can see in video if you check out my instagram @babycakes_gabriel . You can see some of my other props ther as well. It's of course not 100% accurate atm because all I had to go off of was the 360 view from the BE3 showcase and even in HD it was a little blurry, but I think it's alright for now. I'll probably redo it after the game comes out.

I was fooling around in the shop and made a couple mini wooden Nuka Cola bottles, nothing too exciting just needed to do something fallout related until I decide on a bigger fallout related project to work on!

I believe it is mentioned in the Xbox Showcase, link to the video below.

They called it a Laser Musket. Crank and fire.

It is the game's 'signature' weapon. Watching it in action, the only thing I could think of was the "Futurama" episode, where Fry was in the Army. All those Soldiers running across the battlefield, winding-up their ray rifles to charge them up, as the rifles play Pop Goes The Weasel as the charge indicator. I wonder if the LASER Musket is going to play Pop Goes The Weasel too.

David.

Im a bit bummed they had to change up the 10mm pistol. it has been almost the same for all the games.

I continue claw my way through the modeling. There are lot of subtle aspects of the new design that I'm struggling to sort out how to mimic.I think I've the right side rolling down pretty well now and main screen frame. Trying to figure out the soft box on the front now. Plugging along...

Dam that's looking good Flackoe123 iv started building the laser musket you see him holding in the trailer may start a thread on it soon if i can finish some more bits on it
