Hi Gang!
Early morning update! I spent the weekend reworking one of the cockpit entrance greeblies after a new higher detailed image of the EPVII MF dropped.
But first... mounted these greeblies in place
Have to paint the bolt heads black
Lower access panels get a coat of filler
I designed and laser cut some new little knob style greeblies
I also laser cut these coil base risers
Time to redesign and rebuild this guy! Lots of great details about this greeblie were revealed!
That's a lot of laser cut pieces!
Let's put it all together!
Enter Facepalm! The MDF shifted during drying so I had to go back to the laser cutter and cut new pieces...
UGH
While the laser cutter was busy I sanded these pieces down
In place on new cuts
Taking precautions!
Adding primer and adhering together
Adding filler
This piece is a new detail and is VERY fragile - got to be extra cautious sanding
Break out the router and round off the top edge
LOTS of filler
Checking for fit
Primer
New and old
Primer added and waiting for more filler
Turns out there are at least 4 or 5 of this particular greeblie seen in EPVII. But we're doing ESB, but is interesting to see the use of the same and familiar greeblies in different places!
Sorry to bore ya with a redo... but we gotta make it right!
More to Follow!
