Hello there!

Before anyone says anything, i know this has been done! =P

Basically i got a hold of an old Predator 3 light gun!

Straight away most people will be able to tell it has a remarkable resemblance to the 95 Lawgiver. After a quick google search i came up with one that had already been done by Baron Von Blondle. Taking inspiration from him and the way he designed his templates i decided to give it a go!

I plan on using 1mm Kydex (cause thats all i've got lol) so i have developed my templates specifically for that width so it can be built up in layers.

I have also at this point removed the rear sights from the light gun so i can smooth it completely over with kydex.

This is all for now! I shall hopefully get some more done tomorrow!

Thanks for looking!

So after plenty of cutting and positioning, here is where i'm at!

Mine on the left and a random picture sniped of the internet for comparison.

I think i've managed a likeness pretty well! Obviously it wont be completely screen accurate but i'm happy with my progress so far.

Things left to do are
1. a top view template - as i intend to box the entire thing
2. possible templates for the grip. Using Kydex, because its a thermoplastic, im hoping that ill be able to shape the grip.

Thanks!

Steve

So it's been a while since I posted any updates! I ended up not using kydex for the main body because it was too thin. Instead I used 2mm mounting card.

Once I was happy I got to work on lighting! I tried to use the original LEDs that came with the gun but a few of them where dead and the others not bright enough. So I went for some battery operated LED fairy lights!

After I had everything wired up I glued everything together and finished building the body.

Still a few bits to build at the front but otherwise I'm happy with it. Next I'm going to harden it with resin then fill and smooth with body filler, paint and done!

Thanks for looking!

That looks effin' great!!! much better than my version!
You even went to the trouble of squaring off the top as per the actual prop.

Loving the lights too!

Are you gonna do the horribly fiddly bits on the side of the front grip but under the lights?

Wow thanks! I'm going to do as much detail as possible! I'm going to use the 1mm kydex for the "vents" at the bottom under the lights and then I'm thinking for the grip I'll fill it with body filler then try mold the kydex around it.

Disaster!!

The resistor on the battery pack burned out. I've no idea how to fix it, so I guess I might have to skip the lights for now!
