This was my first attempt at a diorama using materials that I have never tried out before and I am fairly pleased with the results. Started out with the Bandai Star Destroyer, painted it flate white, added pencil panel lines, then multiple coats of building up rust colors. I have never tried to replicate rust like this and would love some critiques and tips of how to get better. I used aluminum fol for the island, woodland scenics flock foam for the foliage, plaster over foam for the base, then woodland scenics realistic water tinted with tamiya clear paints for the ocean. There are some real rocks in there as well for extra details. I am still finishing up the white caps on the ocean and will post more pics soon.
