I had my machine shop coat the blue parts with Dykem and after rubbing away some of the excess it came out really nice. It's a bit dark, but I can live with it.

So my next question is....how are the gold pieces getting colored? Is there a paint anyone recommends?

Lovin this!!

Hey Droid, sight came out nice. Marcel used some House of Colors stuff for his. I plan on using the same stuff. I will see if i can find the colors.

Thanks Glen. I couldn't have even come close without your reference photos and leg work. Let me know if your willing to do a batch of gold parts, I'd rather send you money than have a bunch of paint I'll never use again.

Droid , looking good!!
Yes HOK paints candies obviously.
Ken did I not just send you the painted gold stiff?
Marking fluid win spread is teal not blue.
The real prop is you look close is greenish blue , however I mixed marking fluid with clear blue from tamiya, thinners and 2 pak intermediate clear.
This cocktail of different products will mix no matter what and sprays on a bit more blue which is what you see in the overall far away shots.
Glenn has the colour list and hope he offers to paint for you guys over there as the paint is very expensive and had a shortish shelf life!

We'll have to see about paint. Painting is not one of my strengths. I'll see how mine come out then make a decision about offering it.

For reference, I have put together a blog post that has pictures of EVERY part that has been either found, identified, or produced for this project. Right after I took the pictures, it occurred to me that I'm missing a couple pieces, but otherwise the list is pretty thorough. I've also tried to give credit where credit is due, but if anything needs correcting, please let me know.

The Project Workbench: Fifth Element ZF-1 Parts Rundown

LDR, Mars, and zombie, if I can trouble you to please review the list for things I am missing, I would greatly appreciate it.

Matt, I can't find the list!
I do see you have old played replaced with new ones and red and yellow collar replaced with new ones.
Rocket tube is incorrect and at this point no one has a rocket tube.
Fins were too far forward .
If you are missing second set of screws I believe zombie has just assembled the packs.
Top plate and rear plate are being tweaked again prior to cutting.
One important piece which I don't think we ever mentioned.
There is a wooden block with specific measurements between the clippard valve and lower blue block, this need to be made as per original was.

And do you have a red and yellow switch?
You said you had them last time, bit I did not see them in the picture.
Which parts do you see in my build that you can't find in your box?
Lmk and I will sort it out ASAP.
Thanks Matt for posting credit, sounds all good to me.
Agreed when contacted you 4 years ago about a pod and said I wanted to build an awesome zf, I felt there was not enough info to go by and I felt I was not credible enough to you! Lol
Without the combined efforts of ALL those who had input and shared info, this could not of been possible.

Matt, I believe everyone is missing parts at the moment.

I know I am missing various screws, and the brackets, which I believe Glen is putting together now.

I actually have another torch coming so i can try and see if i can make it work or light myself on fire. Which ever comes first. We may need to insert a very thin brass tube though the center of it all the way to the front to keep pressure up.
