ZF-1 BUILD UP problems and questions

ZK, I think I am still missing a set of your screws. And those piston bases, though I don't know where those came from.

I think Mars has a box of parts waiting to ship to me. Perhaps they are in there.

Other than that, this is a great thread!! lol

I am going to make some pics of the parts and the screws to guide you. hen you can match it all up and see whats missing. Thats all for the kind comments.

I am going to build up this frame i have here this week and post up the build. I am also going to come up with some aluminum angle brackets for it and send them out to you guys with the next batch of screws.

Now you do it ;).

Many thanks for all the hard work you guys are putting in.

Ok today's work.....and probably the last for a while until we get new parts:

Today I got the holes tapped for the gold rings (3-.50 tap btw) and reassembled things.

Here are some other assembly pics.

I had to cut down the whale tail to fit in the pod, which I'm assuming we all have to do:

And here are some shots of the brackets I built:

And finally some pics of the bolts going into big barrel. They aren't nutted down, just go through the tube to kind of hold it in place. I'll add a nut to them when I go for the final install.

That should be it for pictures for a while. It's someone else's turn now.

Greg looking good mate!
I know for sure that the Crossman Pulse R76 is the exact size as a real one, but I also know its pretty weak!!hence the low budget tag.
I am unsure of those but they must be casted or at least made in accordance to the correct sizes.
That cyma looks awesome and you cant go wrong with the AEG.
is it jst for looks??

i just noticed they are Ak 47 , but I think they have to be AK 74.
sorry I dont know the difference between them.

Yeah, I'm thinking it will be just for looks. Essentially something to hold the grip and the magazine.

not your bad,, they may be the same i dont know, maybe some gun nut will chime in and explain the difference!!lol

not your bad,, they may be the same...

You are correct - for all practical purposes - the 74 is an updated 47 receiver that was created to accept the more accurate and light (more rounds could be carried in the field) 5.45 x 39 cartridge (less recoil too, so be careful if you're building a live-fire version with the 7.62 chambering - you're going to have to control it with one hand). AK-74 - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The only visible difference in this application will be the banana magazine. The 74 had less bend. Also they used a Polish steel magazine, instead of the more common Bakelite version.

I've used Echo 1 and Cybergun (AK74su) for my airsoft builds. That Cyma looks real nice. The Crossman in America is not nearly as accurate (particularly the grip).

I cut some frame brackets up. Nothing special, just some brackets, still have to do some cleanup. The long ones are for the top section, i will drill holes in them for button head allens to screw them to the top plate. These will be drilled close to the same place as the rivets on the original prop so they look like the rivets. I'll have them done soon.

Thanks Kurt for the recommendation. Now to figure out what to buy first. Electronics from you or the Cyma.

And Glen...I might have to upgrade my brackets to yours. They look better :).
