I'm using fine rake tools to get a basic smoothness, and then a water soaked paper towel (it's WED clay, so any kind of spirits just won't work). I'll have to see if cotton pads or something will work for final smoothing.
Here we are with todays efforts...finally happy (more or less, I spotted one thing to fix right before leaving) with the symmetry. Also got it smooth, so I think the next step will be finally starting the detailing on this mofo.
Aaaand...here's some more. I'm thinking about not making the cheeks identical, I may do a different pattern for all the greeblies that will go onto the right cheek. Jay, what say you? You didn't draw me a right cheek, so I'm using some artistic licence here...
Well, I've decided to try and punch this out by the weekend, so here's some more progress...I think tomorrow I need to hit the model shops and see if I can find any cool greeblies for all these cutouts in the cheeks.
So, I bought two model kits, a clock, some lightbulbs and some plumbing stuff. Then I stuck it on there. Some final detailing stuff, like the eyes and the rivets, and this puppy is done.
I didn't take any pics before moulding it. So, y'all are just gonna have to wait until it's done to really see it. Come on, who thought I'd dropped it?
