Your Indiana Jones Displays - Lets see 'em

Calling this one complete. I felt it was too shiny so I washed some age into it.

Easier to work on and I can put it down without having to finish a step like it takes with my Star Wars props.

I had a bad car accident back in November and I'm having a hard time recovering. Im on light duty at work so Indy props are being taken off my to do list . :p

Oh, man :/ That’s a bummer. Glad to know you’re on the mend. Hope all goes well be for you in the future, buddy.

Keep the props comin’.

I'm 2 coats in. The tutorial shows 5. I did make 2 alterations so far.

1 was the brushes. He shows junky throw away brushes. My first coat made me stop and go to an expensive soft bristle brush. You dont need an expensive one but that's all I have for hand painting. I stopped using the cheap brush because it started showing too many brush lines. The soft bristle brush stopped the brush lines.

2 . He said he used 2 oz.. lacquer with 8 drops yellow and 4 drops red food coloring. I used 10 drops yellow and 4 red.

I'm getting pretty excited with the look so far. It's not finished but I wanted to post my 2nd coat for you to see.

Just dont use that bigger brush. I used a smaller soft bristle brush. It's much easier to control and remember, coats and layers are key.

I'm happy with it. Much better than gold spray paint or rub n buff.

I love how it has some depth to it vs rattle can paint jobs. Looks really good.
