Your Indiana Jones Displays - Lets see 'em

kevin926 finally finished these sankara stone sculpts... these were done in air dry clay and the bigger two were sculpted over soda cans... the smaller is sculpted over balled up tin foil due to the size. Then they are primed with grey spray primer and clear coated with turtle wax on top.

They look great. I didn't use anything inside mine. I just cut the clumps, and let them dry. Lol.

I may do them again. 10 dollars for the clay so not a big deal.

How long did yours take to dry?

Mine took over a week but mine was all clay

Can't wait to see them painted.

I think i spent about the same amount on mine... took about a week to dry as well. After they are dry, sanding and carving are super easy though.

Yeah, it's a fun prop and really costs nothing went it comes to materials. My son gets duplicates of my props. I can always give those to him.

My wife and daughter said they looked like poop piles while they sat on our back porch floor drying in the sun for a week.

And yes, such an easy palette to work with.

I’ve never shown pics of my stuff, but a couple of weeks ago I went through the house and ‘tried’ cleaning it up and organizing it better. It’s not perfect, my house does not have enough display room for all the various collections I have.....go figure. I also have some very nice costume pieces but they live in a costume bin.

if you look at my current profile pic, it’s me in Venice. When we went I went to the church of San Barnaba and posed in front of it with my crushable fedora. There is no X marking the spot, however. :)

The top pic shows a mix of props, disney stuff, and a few non Indiana jones items from various travels that look like they belong.
the second pic shows a work in progress Cross of Coronado (Looking for a chain)
the third pic is a small cabinet with Disney stuff
the fourth pic is one shelf in another room of mostly figures.
edit: added two more pics
fifth picture is hanging in my office at work, it’s a production used storyboard. I have a few items in my office from each of my collections.
sixth picture is the full size poster that hangs in my living room. I’m sure the wife wishes it to be somewhere else. A few years back after we took the granddaughter to Disneyland (the ride was scary to her, we felt bad) she looks at the poster and tells me that ‘if you miss that ride, Papa, we can go back. I’ll ride it with you’. While cute, she just wanted to go back to Disneyland, I know her real motive. ❤
I’ve still got more crap hidden away somewhere. For example: I have no idea where my Peacocks Eye Diamond is.

I'm not sure it does i think it's just a dirty mark left from where an eraser was removed because there is no sign of the silver part that the erasers have where it fits onto the pencil ????

The silver part may have been aged so it wouldn't show...

Many pencils still have a brass (FERRULE :) )

However, there just doesn't seem to be enough there for a ferrule and an eraser. It's possible that what is at the end is about HALF of an oxidize brass ferrule. It has been bent or damaged at some point.

To me it looks like when you have a cheap pencil and the ferrule and eraser fall off.

Yes, that's also a possibility. I have taken off a ferrule before, and sometimes, the pencil is NOT painted yellow under where the ferrule is, so that the pencil would be that dark unpainted wood underneath, same as the sharpened end of the pencil.

That would also be why it looks like half the size of a ferrule. Half of a ferrule covers the end of the pencil, and the other half of the ferrule contains the eraser.

You might have hit on the most likely description. (y)(y)(y)
