I don't think they would go the "Cars" route, maybe something more like "Brave."

Fire the person who actually came up with the story? They've already done that for the live action film. A female protagonist? Too far fetched. About the only thing I can come up that would be like Brave in any measurable way is that they change the title from something that was relevant to the story to something that has absolutely nothing to do with anything in the movie.

I meant I don't think they would make talking x-wings and tie fighters. I think they would go with a story about someone on an adventure.

They already did the CGI Clone Wars. And as it was pretty awful...
I suppose the only thing left is the Toon Disney Star Wars Show Droids Extreme... and the Teen Disney Jedi Academy Show... The Jedi's of Waverly Place.

First, Disney/Pixar would not make a Cars-type movie from Star Wars, and I think even those of you who say you're afraid of that happening knows better than that deep down.
Second, I put zero stock in what el mayimbe or anyone at that site says. They're hacks. They make educated guesses with the information available and sometimes get lucky, and then they use the opportunity to say "See, I told you. You shouldn't doubt us, we're awesome." Anybody with the same information could make the same inference. Disney bought Star Wars, Pixar is owned by Disney, therefore Pixar must be making a Star Wars film, it's almost too easy to make something sound true.

But Pixar didn't make Clone Wars.
I just did not like the style of animation on the Clone Wars. I just couldn't get into it. From the looks of it, I don't think I will like Rebels either, but we will see.
I've liked several Pixar movies. (Brave, Up, Monsters Inc, Wall-E) I would expect a proper Pixar Star Wars movie to rake in several Oscars.

Don't get me wrong, I am a big fan of Pixar. With the exception of Cars and it's sequel, I've enjoyed everything they've done... but regardless of the animation, the Clone Wars movie was just bad...

I didn't watch the series, but I know it had a lot of fans, including my two boys.
It just seems that Disney is going to hammer Star Wars out every way they can.
It just seems like every week, there's some new announcement of Disney doing something with Star Wars...
A new trilogy, single character spin off movies, an animated series, comic books, Attack Squadrons game, theme parks.
Over saturated doesn't begin to cover it.

If its quality, then there is no such thing as oversaturation, because I could never have too much quality Star Wars content. I want Star Wars collectible glasses at Burger King. I want to hear Star Wars dialogue quoted on sitcoms for 30 more years. I say do another Holiday Special. T-shirts, Halloween costumes, breakfast cereal, weekly animated show, live action TV show, stand alone movies, toys, Spaceballs 2: The Search For More Money, bring it all on..... as long as its good stuff. Come on JJ. You ha e to lead everyone off. The ball is in your court. I hope he slam dunks it!

And even then, it's no guarantee. (See the Prequels)
because there just aren't that many great writers in TV or Movies, or people that even care about continuity, or directors that will want to put their own interpretation on the universe.
...and SW promo toys will likely be at McDonald's seeing as they do the Disney and Pixar stuff already....

Do people forget that Uncle George was slapping the Star Wars brand on anything and everything that would pay the licensing fee before Disney bought the company? Sure, it's an unholy alliance of the two biggest brand [women who sell their bodies] there are, but it's nothing new for Star Wars to be pimped out for every last cent that can be squeezed from it.
For all the Disney snark there is, they've got a better quality track record over the past 30 years than Lucas had.

Marvel has already MADE what? 6 stand alone films, 1 avengers, has 2 more avengers slated, and i think 4 more single movies already scheduled (might be 6).
There are countless comic books in the same universe, with multiple timelines going on as well I believe.
I'm sure there are books, there are cartoon series, there's a TV series...
I'm sure they'll be in the theme parks too once the contracts end with Universal.

As has been said before, they're trying to model star wars off the Marvel Universe. As long as you plan properly it *can* all work out well. I think that's part of the canon group they're making. This will be the LFL group that everything goes through for continuity and hopefully quality.
