Yet another M134 minigun (pic heavy)

Just a quick update: Got all the aluminium cut - slowly putting it together. This is just a pic of the top yoke. I used "c" channel so that I can hide all the screws. More sanding....

Hi the build looks excellent but I was wondering how you are planning on getting a realistic looking metal finish on plastic. I have tried a couple of different metal spray paints and have not be impressed by any of them.

Sorry guys, I had planned an update but I've been away on holidays.

I'm going to primer the parts then use a pewter/silver spray and let that harden. Then I'll spray it black and rub it pack with some metho. I'll airbrush some blue/black on the edges and then dullcote after.

I was thinking about applying rust and dirt using chalks once that's done.

Update:

Been flat out in the second half of last year creating props for local theatre.
I created this rose for Beauty and the Beast which featured remote controlled rigs so I could drop the petals on cue. This picture is of the full rose (I also created a half rose, 1/4 rose and the remote rig which has it's last two petals) so you can see that it kept me busy.

During the dress rehearsal I saw that Belle was struggling with the mirror the director (not a hands on creative) had made so I had to redo this prop too.
I made it from MDF and placed a light ring in it and a 2 way mirror. When the audience first sees it they just think they are looking at a mirror, then with a flick of a switch a picture of the beast appears. The picture below shows the original on top and mine below.

Sooooo.... back to the gun!
Picked up a cheapo wind chime and some gate handles at Bunnings.

Measured, cut and glued them together.

I had originally made the cross handle a bit wide so I cut this to length and inserted the new handles.

And I finally finished making the back piece. I just have the drop down to do and I've got this part finished.

This is turning out awesome- i am hoping to build something at least as nice and as detailed. Have you done a tutorial or provided a parts list yet? That would be very helpful to us guys who lack the resources.
