Loving this build! Thanks for the high quality pictures. Very inspiring. These small details really help to define the 'grumpy', aggressive character. Please keep posting lots of pictures!

Thanks for your comments,
yes that's "grumpy". I love that word. I think that word fits well in stormtrooper.

Nice progress! To me the teeth were one of the hardest part to make to the point that I redo them 3 times. but I see you nailed yours on your the 1st try.

grenater, you could print the file in regular paper and then glue them to a ticker card.

yes my teeth are taken time for reflection, I have watched many different models of helmets and depending on the material they were made of fiberglass, abs, hdpe rendering is never the same. I do not make a super accurate helmet, but I try to get closer to hdpe version that I believe is more lively in the corners

some new pictures on the progress of the vocoder.

2014-09-07_14-57-52_250.jpg
firstly tracing various components in order to see their spacing between them.

2014-09-07_14-58-10_660.jpg2014-09-07_14-58-46_253.jpg2014-09-07_14-59-12_74.jpg
I bought a small tool to copy the forms, which is very useful to copy the inner face of the vocoder, the outer face I freehand. All carried on thick cardboard.

2014-08-18_11-56-17_992.jpg2014-08-18_11-56-54_891.jpg2014-08-18_11-57-09_352.jpg2014-09-13_09-44-45_877.jpg2014-09-13_09-44-54_922.jpg

Once cut, role play, it's not too bad.
next step, making various items.

So thanks to the cardboard template I determined that each element must have a thickness of 6 mm spaced 2 mm.
Luckily I still had a plank flooring 6 mm ..
So tracing decoupage and grinding of the elements closest to the template.

implementation of the elements of the vocoder
2014-08-21_12-51-05_232.jpg2014-08-21_12-52-31_737.jpg

once well established and well spaced between them, I glue hot glue to be able to unmold the vocoder as a single unit.

good after all this work I am not satisfied. I find the vocoder too big forwards. So I decided to redo the cardboard template and start over. you can see the difference between the old template here:
2014-09-14_13-19-55_458.jpg2014-09-14_13-20-03_705.jpg
and the new:

2014-09-14_13-21-37_144.jpg2014-09-14_13-21-50_872.jpg
the difference is not large but it is important :

2014-08-30_15-27-46_307.jpg

has left the new, the old right.

it only remains now has re new items.
