I want to replicate the above badge, as I'm currently restoring one of these:
Hoffman Bikes Evel Knievel Signature Bike
Sadly, there aren't a lot of them left in that condition. Mainly 'cause people, in the spirit of the great man, went out and ****ed themselves and the bike. How do I know? Because I did just that!
Long story short, my little brother ended up with a frame that I parted ways with 'bout a decade ago. He happens to be quite nostalgic 'bout it, as he used to come watch us ride when he was a youngster, which is why I thought I'd restore it for him. I just know he'll love riding it at our local skatepark this summer! But instead of restoring the bike to its original glory -- which, dare I say, is kind of gaudy -- I thought I'd customize it like a hot rod (some EK inspired pinstriping instead of the original decals would look pretty cool).
I do still want it to have a badge, but not the damaged one. Obviously, a stamped badge, like the original, is out of the question. But I'm thinking that an etched plaque could work. I could round the edges, then attach it to the downtube. With that in mind, I recreated the design in the hopes of having a plaque made.
Here's the recreated artwork:
So, what are my options, RPF?
