X-Wing Madness. Flying at last!

That X- Wing is beautifully done. I 've got to admire the sheer effort you've put into it to get the build and the paint work so acccurate. And a perfect piece to add to your collection. Well Done.

The best X paint job, and I love visor man ! :D

Awesome collection by the way, I can notice you have several Fett's helmet, this is my fav too !

Guy,

Without any doubt whatsoever, that is THE most ILM-accurate paintjob I've seen on ANY replica ANYWHERE. Just incredible work!!!

Chris

Amazing finish - straight from the Archives. Great work, man. And you have the added satisfaction of having created this build yourself. Enjoy!

Thanks so much fellas, I did put my all in to this build & think it paid off? I'm petrified to put dull coat on it incase it looses some of the pastel work!!!!!!

Chris K, that is some statement mate & thanks for saying it, I never intended anymore than a great looking Red 3. Where only as good as our ref material, & ILM do tend to make stuff that is jaw dropping so with a bit of passion anything can happen.

I really cant wait to get stuck into my next build now & am hoping its a B wing or 2 (with lights hopefully)

I'm also thinking about a commission from someone, but don't know who to ask. Its Studio scale model but not a vehicle, I really want a Luke on Taun Taun stop motion replica.

Dont we all Guy lol, the armature is way possible, its not very complicated and "could" be made with off the shelf gear rather than expensive machining.
Ill send you a link to a site carrying most of whats needed!

The tricky part is the hide and fur ILM used on the prop over that latex skin...but im with you, i love the Tauntaun stop motion!

Hey guy the parts they used for the Tauntaun armature are available as parts for stop/go motion armature pupetts. I had a website where they sell this kind of stuff ! I have to find it =)

Thanks Lee, Julien. I don't know if I'd be able to tackle this my self as I've never done any kind of sculpting, let alone casting in latex. I'd love to have a go but think its a bit above my station (so to speak). Is there anyone on the boards that would be up for the task that you might know?

I'm going to start a separate thread on this as I'm very keen to get this off the ground.
