X-Men First Class Movie Discussion

I agree bloop, and the fact that those were my only real nitpicks makes me pretty happy.

The whole end sequence had me glued. The sub, Azazel getting pwnd, Chuck being shot. All of it. I don't think I've seen a final act that solid since Inception. Which granted, is not that old, but it's ****ing amazing too. Anyway. I was about to squeal like a girl when Magneto showed up with his correct helmet at the end. They couldn't have made me a happier comic geek.

I loved it.

They played Charles and Eric off of each other perfectly.

The ending had me glued and wanting more.

Sure the line up wasn't the "original" one but the mutants used were great choices, I loved seeing Banshee and Havok on screen.

Saw it, liked it a lot. Best one since X-Men II.

Only character that didn't work for me was the dude whose mutant power appeared to be tornadoes and the ability to conjure up infinite fresh pressed Italian suits.

Saw it loved it, (could have been called Origins:Magneto and it would have worked) great cast too, for once you really cared about the characters, well done!

I liked the movie alot, very well done.
Wanted more of the Hellfire Club overall, Charles and Erik werre quite well done and true to the comics, the rest worked well enough overall.

That was awesome. And I think it made me like the other ones more.

I love that it puts the lie to you-can't-sell-a-period-film criticism the studios have.

Movie was solid, great fun to watch.

My favorite part, honestly was:

Hugh Jackman/Wolverines Cameo

And this little deal was interesting:

My wife told me she read an interview with the director the recalled James McAvoy wanting to mimic Patrick Stewarts accents as Professor X and the Director told him no, as this version of the movie was not related to the others?! Then why the Romijin and Jackman cameos, etc? Theres too much linked to the others for it to not be related.

You know what kinda made me lol in a bad way?

How the minority, Angel, became a bad guy, and the token black guy, Darwin, was killed... leaving the final X-Men roster all white. oops. :eek:eek:eek

You're wrong...
two of them were blue, not white :lol

Angel made sense if you look at it in terms of the culture of the time. She was not only a woman, but a black woman who worked in a strip club. Chances are good that she'd heard her whole life that she would never have the chance to be anything more than what she wound up as... and here you have Shaw who is charming and tangibly powerful who is offering her the chance to rise above that as opposed to the more repressive Xavier who wants her to 'fit in'.
