Wood grips for Wilco Mal pistol?

Anybody do Wood grips for a Wilco Mal pistol? I got it on Ebay, its cast with the grips not attached, and Id love to get some real wood grips...

That thread was based on screen used castings and Wakal stated that they would not fit Wilco pistols. Though nothing came of it, anyway.

S'pose I could always try to make my own. Can anyone recommend the type of wood to use to match the grain in the screen-used gun?

Pretty sure it's walnut.

They were indeed walnut grips.
