My apologies for harping on this, but the jacket still appears to go way below the belt line, as opposed to the original that is only a few inches below the belt line....am I seeing this wrong?

That looks pretty damn good to me.
Did you ask them to make any changes to the jacket or is that stock?

Nope, no changes at all. Thats the pattern they're using for normal orders for it. Only time it had to go back was for a bit of damage on the back and they replaced the damaged section free of charge.

Did you request to get the waist length changed? Or would that be too much for the pattern too..?Yeah the torso of the jacket is definitely too long... You can see it in the ratio of the vent zipper length to the remaining length still to go to the bottom of the jacket... as well as the ratio of the sleeve length to torso length.
Still a very nice jacket though... I've got confirmation that mine was shipped today from Wested. Hoping to get it next week sometime. Hopefully the leather I sent them turned out the way I hoped. The color and 20 year+ natural aging of the leather I sent should match up well to the aging done on the brown jacket material.
I tried to get them to alter the cut of the back to match the original Vanson, but Gemma didn't seem to think they could alter that much from their pattern.

Well guys, I actually got a call from Vanson yesterday. And well...my jacket is also DONE. It shipped out yesterday, but I'm guessing it won't be here until Monday...could be Saturday if I'm lucky. I feel kinda bad getting my jacket at nearly the same time as Guntahkela, since he waited 11 and 1/2 months for his and I only had to wait 2 and 1/2.

I hope my jacket comes in today, or it will be a long weekend.

It looked darker in the films...
My jacket just arrived. Review:
No, really, I swear this jacket looked more like a dark chocolate brown in both movies, not this reddish-brown/rust color. Well, at least, dark brown is how the leather swatches looked like when they were sent to me.
The leather itself is not as hard to wear as I anticipated, but it is not immeditally soft. Jacket does get you worm. I'd be dammed to wear it during this unhleathy, hot summer.
The neckring is rounded, not squared. Very tough-looking zippers. Jacket weighs about 3 pounds.
Over all, it is all nice jacket. Beautifull craftmanship. I do still have mixed feelings about the color. I could've sworn the color was darker. I guess that's part of the risk when buying something before seeing it first.
Did the wardrove Dept. at Fox dyed the jacket after they got it from Vanson? Is there something I need to do to "convert it" into film-accurate, other than aging and breaking into it?
I might sell it and order a second one with a darker leather, not sure yet.

Umm, please tell me the color looks like the Vanson on page 14 at least. Or like this, I can live with this: http://www.vansonleathers.com/images/1new%...cs/5303_MOD.jpg I've got that sinking feeling...
