Wolverine all day baby! Jackets, belts, claws, oh my.

Nice job Jeggs, you're really nailing it now... on your waist stripe there is no vertical piping though at the back seams in the yellow suede, so just remove that section of piping and you will be more accurate to the original.

Also Jeggs, I'm looking at the Bates and there is about a half an inch of space in between the zipper and the bottom stripe on the sleeve. Meaning your zipper goes up just a tad far. That's the only other thing I can spot. You've got it all now I think.

In other news, they're rewriting The Wolverine and confirmed it's a sequel to Origins...http://www.superherohype.com/news/articles/168334-mark-bomback-to-rewrite-the-wolverine This guy is a good writer so I have high hopes.

Patterson - you can wash it down any way you like... soak it with a hose, in the shower, sink, whatever. Or if you mean with Alcohol, you can hit it with 70% first and rub it down, then go from there until you have what you like.

on the screen and the previous images of bates the zipper reaches the edge of the bottom stripe on the sleeve and the pics supplied by patterson are diferent also the pipping cuff are diferent on patterson's jacket comparing the jacket screen seen.

I notice two details more in addition you mention, but I don't know if the costumers want to wait longer time to receive their jackets and wait first to see one new version or just make their jackets and fix the little details directly in their jackets, tomorrow post some pics to show the bottom jacket with my belt.

I'm happy with this version Jeggs. If you want to tone down the ducktail slightly that would be great but I dont need to see another prototype, just apply to my jacket. What are the other details you plan to change?

OK Tom I'll to work with your jacket to get ready as soon as possible

theman and drool observations are necessary to modify, however I would like to make other minor modifications, such as changing the order of brown suede, a little less wide straps on the sleeve.

I'm happy with this version Jeggs. If you want to tone down the ducktail slightly that would be great but I dont need to see another prototype, just apply to my jacket. What are the other details you plan to change?

Seems like you're missing the originals like (prototype X1)Vanson and reproductions and Bates as the original screen worn and still available upon request. Original Leather Factory (OLF, see Patterson's by the same maker as Hugh's on screen)
Boots: Frye's were worn in X3 and I just wear the Frye Jayden Chelsea's in brown.
You can add Red Money leather for the watch and leatherband seen in X2 and X3.
You can also add myself under reproducing both the RM watchband and X1, and X2/XO leather belts. ;)

Interesting Wolverine Buckle

Over the past years I've owned quite a few Wolverine style belt buckles from the most common makers such as Indiana Metalcraft, Bergamot Brass Works, Great American Chicago Buckle Co., and a few others.
Most of these are made of a base metal plated in brass and have a copyright date of 1975 or 1976. I had always thought these were copy's of the old Tiffany Buffalo Bill/Sitting Bull buckle but the design was not exactly the same.
About a year ago I ran across this buckle made by SandyVal Graphics LTD. out of New York with a copyright date of 1971, made of high grade pewter. I am now wondering if the buckles that we know are actually copies of this SandyVal design. Anyone else run across a SandyVal buckle?

This thread, and these jackets, are so addicting. I never seem to get tired of looking at them. I've got one on order, but I swear that sooner or later I'm going to own all four. Even the X-3 one, which at first I didn't particularly like, has come to really grow on me after seeing some of the pictures posted.

Cool paint job! Dead on my friend, did you paint this?

I think Indiana Metalcraft( just a simple symbol on the back?) might be the one maker that was unidentified being sold on eBay last week that Hollowpond was curious about.
Never seen this version of the casting. 71 would be the oldest date on any reproductions. Curved relief, and slight curve of the hair, and the keeper on the back is a solid piece attached to the buckle too...interesting. Makes me curious as to how many of these are floating around right now. Great find and thank VERY much for sharing, InLikeFlynn. :cool
Any chance of taking and posting one more photo of back of this buckle, please?

Thanks, it really turned out better than I was hoping for. Just sprayed it first with brown primer, then used ModelMaster enamels. Then I rubbed it with river sand. After about eight months of wear it looks pretty good.

The curve makes a world of difference in making it comfortable to wear.

I don't have my Indiana MetalCraft buckle anymore, sent it off to a guy who was supposed to make me a solid brass copy and never heard from him or saw the buckle again.

I have yet to find another one of these SandyVals but they have to be out there as I have found other SandVal buckles of different designs.
I'll post a picture of the back shortly.

Here's the back of the buckle. The brass crossbar is soldered in place, I'd feel more comfortable if it was pinned and soldered but it seems to hold up well as it is.
If anyone knows more of the origins and history of the Indian buckle in regards to Wolverine let me know.

Thanks, bud. So, the usual. Just wondered if you'd done anything unusual.

I've picked up some 90% at CVS. We're getting severe storm warnings tonight, so I'll probably hang her over the back of one of the deck chairs and let a little soft rain water do it's thing. Even with water softening, we have a lot of iron and calcium in the tap water. It left white residue on my Magnoli XO.

It's 101d f here in central Indiana. Monday on we're looking at highs in the low 70's and lows in the mid 50's. Yehaw!!!

A.) My AC compressors can take a break!
B.) I can start WEARING these jackets again!

I'm looking at these belt buckles. That pre-adamantium version you showed us? Where would one obtain one? Also, what's the authoritative source for the chief version?

Saw someone in a Wolverine get-up this morning at the Dragoncon parade, including the jacket. I think it was an X-1. Looked nice. I was nowhere near close enough to take a picture, but I couldn't help but wonder if it was someone here.

Maybe... There are lots of us all over the world that get into the Wolverine/Logan look. He's cool and inspirational with that burly attitude of his. :lol

Thanks for the shot of the backside of the buckle. Looks like it was haphazardly soldered on, which may give at any time, or at least that's how it appears. I wonder if they were all soldered that way?
