Wolverine all day baby! Jackets, belts, claws, oh my.

Yes, as a matter of fact I am in the Rat Pack. Want to make something of it? ;)

Dammit, this flick-blade is merely a comb!

If I were to make a Wolverine movie, I'd give him 45 costume changes just to drive you guys crazy :) (I'd be safe because I'd have the costume dept make me some replicas!)

Truth be told yeah Dan makes a nice X2 but ill bypass all the fan stuff and go to Bates for my next jacket. Cant get better than that.

Yeah, I know that - is it a quality thing or the fact that they will obviously make the most screen accurate jacket?
I'm not asking to be snide, I just wanna know :)

I'm personally not really interested in screen accuracy and the Vanson stuff, as far as I can tell, are excellent quality.

Yes Bates made it, but I have heard reports that even though the construction is top notch the pattern varies slightly sometimes. That is what I heard anyways...

I guess there are so many variables in making an article of clothing, you will always have tiny little discrepancies. All that matters to me is that it fits and it lasts.

Has Logan ever worn any cool jackets (or any other gear, for that matter) in the comics that stand out and could be brought to life?

I'm going to go back through some back issues and see what I can find.

I always liked the pilot style wool lined jacket he wore in the 90's cartoon. I think that would be easy as hell to find! Most likely not cheap but easy to find

Good one, mate - see if you can find a pic!

I think it'd be sweet to collect some of this stuff and put together our own real world Logan.

I'll put my version up against any Bates X2 any day of the week...in the details and the quality (and mine at half the price). And be happy to see those two go head to head for the next 50 years and see whose holds up better. :)

I realize you're backing Vanson quality here, but are also saying Bates has lower quality materials and craftsmanship? Do you know something I don't?

As for pointed shoulder problem, the training of the sleeves is a minor issue as Bowelrock and I have proven. Moreso on Bowelrock's jacket than my own. So it's not as huge of an issue as it seems to be. But I can see how others would want a perfect fit out of the box, and I can't really blame them for that.

I just want to give Heron some credit where it's due. I call it as I see it, and I see great jobs from both Dan/Vanson and Jorge/Heron, here. Vanson is clearly more experienced and has Dan on their side, and having to be able to talk to the actual jacket maker Jorge is a rare treat to be here taking everyone's input and being so positive and receptive to the criticism. Heron is the underdog and I'd like to see them do great things with this jacket among others in their future lines of leather wear. I chose them because of their price to quality ratio as well as their customer service, which cannot be beat in my opinion.

I know...singing their praises, and all this time, I've been doing this because I believe in the what they are capable of. I've seen them overcome probably the hugest obstacle a small...hell, any company for that matter, to become something I can stand behind. I've been to Vanson, and I see what they can do, amazing things...
I respect Dan and am blown away by all the film jackets he has given us oogle and drool over (pun sorta intended). All I'm saying I guess, is that I just wanted to point that this feels like some kind of competition (in a way it is financially and professionally) but at the same time seems lop sided, askewed with too many opinions and bad mouthing each other.

I'll hop of that tiny soapbox, I randomly found...:angel

A guy on FJ.com got the Bates X2. If I can remember correctly the sleeves were rather baggy, meaning the suede to leather ratio was too much. This is just me but Dan has the lower sleeve right...I wouldn't risk paying 1500 bucks to get what he did. Screen jacket or not...

That was Patterson. He apparently even went to Bates in person to get sized. But he had lost alot of weight from a recent heart attack and when it arrived it no longer fit. That's what he claimed anyways. He washed the jacket, which shrank it so much the piping filler ripped through the suede gussets. If you ask me that's $1,500 poorly spent.
But due to the high custom cost of the Bates X2, not many (known anyways) have purchased the jacket and given a review or photos for us to truly judge on how consistant they are at the quality or pattern.

This doesn't need to be a Pissing match Between Dan and every other jacket maker.. *****!!!! Dan you don't even make the Jackets Vanson's does your just a Rep of sorts Correct? They Aren't your Jackets, yes you give them pointers as to make them more accurate to the film, And we appreciate that but it doesn't change the Fact that your just a middleman. No offense I'm just stating facts. Am i wrong?

Yowza, put the claws away bub. I think Dan has every right to say its "his" jacket after being THE guy responsible for making it possible for the likes of us to ever get our hands on a wolverine jacket from vanson. And the X2 wasn't originally made by vanson so it was up to him to work with them until it was correct. I think thats FAR more than middleman.

I haven't seen a Bates in person but know their reputation is great and to me it seems kind of like ford vs chevy. I think both are good choices, but from all I've read/heard it does seem Vanson's "screen accuracy" is better or at least more consistent. I personally would prefer a vanson over a bates, not to mention the insane savings of $600 vs. $1100+. I just trust the Vanson will be great cuz I've seen dan's work and he is "THE MAN" when it comes to this topic. Not to mention all the pleased customers who've posted their pics as well.

Having said that, Im also super excited for my Heron jacket and think they have done and are continuing to do great things. My brother is even interested in ordering a totally custom jacket from them having seen my heron for the one day I had it before returning. My new jacket is about two weeks from being done, but with the changes Jorge has made I think its an absolute steal for the price. And I thank Drool for making this option a possibility!

No Claws here. I'm not flaming Dan just Asking a question. And like i said we are thankful for what he has done. I have plans to pick up an X-1 from him sometime in the future.

All I know is that when I get my jacket, I'll be singing Dan's praises - not Vanson's... Or I'll be calling for Dan's blood... AND Vanson's :)

It's al good, bros.

Another kinda off topic question but does anyone know what button up red vintage shirt Logan is sporting in Origins or Any film for that matter? I am onto that portion of my costume and any feedback is appreciated! Did pick up my Levi 527's today for $25 on sale!
