Wolverine all day baby! Jackets, belts, claws, oh my.

It looked like Wolverine was stabbing that sentinel with bone claws...Unless there is something I missed, bones cannot go through metal?

In the same way as "why is Magneto using a gun?", I suspect we're going to need to watch the movie to know why, and what he's actually doing....But a possibility would be the cables connecting the guns to the arm, or he's been given an Adamantium skeleton "early", by Magneto....Or he's just frickin' nuts and doesn't mind breaking his claws on the metal if it stops the shooting.......The third sounds as likely as all the others really, given what we know about Wolverine's temperament when pissed off....

darkside is right. I thought we had this discussion before. He can cut steel and most other materials with the bone claws in the comics at least. His bones are more durable than normal, but also normal healthy bones have a compressive strength similar to steel, but is three times lighter. Bones are pretty strong, but not unbreakable of course.
Here he is damaging metal armor with his bone claws.

So, this sentinel probably won't have a chance. haha

BTW, did anyone else notice the metallic sound effect they used when Wolverine was attacking those henchman in the newest trailer?

Yeah...I don't think they're going back over it to retread, but just "sidestepping" the movie....Saying "yeah, it happened, but maybe not EXACTLY like he seems to have remembered it"...If you see what I mean?

Just pretending it's not exact....Just a blurred fuzz of what actually happened....LOL.....

Exactly what I thought, Wolvie always has different details but he always has the same main memory lol

and dont yall remember Victor tore through that car hood just for fun? Yep those can do some damage

The bone claws definitely cause massive damage. I'm excited to watch 'em in action more!

@JLeezy23 that is the closest shirt I have seen to the future shirt, the color look pretty similar as well. Thanks for sharing.
@TheWolverine that has to be one of the clearest shots of the claws that I have seen, thanks man. I can't wait to see the bone claws in action too we really have not seen him fight using them other than the Victor bar fight. I think that Origins implied the notion that the bone claws are weak, but they were so strong and awesome in the comics. When I first got into comics when I was a kid, Magneto had removed the adamantium off Wolverine's bones, so I grew up with bone claw Wolverine. I liked that he got the metal back in though, but the bone claws had a nice run.

Yeah, but you're talking Sabretooth's claws, I'm talking Logan's. If that were the case, then Victor wouldn't have been able to step on them and break them like nothing in Origins. May be the truth for the comics but I call more continuity BS.

Yeah....But we've seen them trying to move away from Origins somewhat.....I still think we should wait for the movie to explain this better, but I also think that the Sabretooth scene with the claws was always stupid though, (since if he can grow the bone back, it'd hurt, but really mean very little), and perhaps that's one more move away from Origins they're making with this movie here.......

We'll need to wait until the story gets explained before we're able to start sorting this one out...But we've seen that Wolverine can fight well enough with the bone claws, and there may be other reasons that he's doing so in the scene (that we don't yet know)...As Wolfman points out...They're also randomly using the sound of his metal claws when he extends the bone claws...So it's all a little strange and off right now....

Either way...I suspect that there will BE a reason given, and it'll work fine....(Basically, I still don't really see what the complaints are about this trailer....It STILL looks badass to me...)

Maybe but factor in the fact that Sabretooth is a mutant with superhuman strength so he can step on them with a lot more force than a regular person. Also, he was propped up on railroad tracks or something so the angle/position of the claws and them being against a non moveable surface makes them easier to break. Just a thought.

I need some input on a related subject. I have not read the Daken or Dark Wolverine comics at all but I have seen images of Daken with both bone colored claws and dark grey/black claws. I am wondering what is the more popular color. I am going to start offering these claws and will allow the buyer to choose but I want to have some premade for a local convention.

I think fifthchamber is right that we need to wait and see before judging the bone claw's durability (I'm hoping that he cuts metal with them but that is just me). I also agree with darkside501st Sabretooth's legs are super-humanly strong it's crazy how he runs on all fours and can climb a building, so it is reasonable that he broke them. I'm not sure that IF Wolverine takes a sentinel down with his bone claws, that it would be a continuity error because we have never seen Wolverine try to cut anything with the bone claws in the films. Also just for the record if the movie's Sabretooth has bone claws like the comic version, then JLeezy23's comparison of Victor's and Logan's natural claws is completely valid.

Darkside, I'm sorry but I don't know much about Daken either (I have read that they are supposed to be black in color, but it varies), but I am interested to know how you got the wrist claw to looking like it was coming out?
I have nothing to back this up, but I think the metal sound effects used are just marketing, because the bone claws got a lot of hate last film when Wolverine lost his adamantium claws.

Also, in the Wolverine He was stuck in the well. Used the claws to stick into the wall to climb it. So, seems pretty strong to me

Either way....It looks likely that he CAN do damage to the early model Sentinels with his claws...If not cut into them as easily....The Sabretooth bits don't take away or add to the debate for me, since it's a different character....But we've seen Wolverine use his claws on the brick in the well, and despite the frail look they had when stepped on by Sabretooth, we can expect him to damage the Sentinel if he stabbed it with them.....

But like I've said all along....We don't need to really focus on this...It's not a gaping hole in the plot, nor is it seriously taking away the coolness of the trailer....And I suspect it'll be completely explained by the movie.....We're blowing it up here too much..

Yeah, I think we have made to much out of it as well, but that is what we do. haha The point that he can support his weight in the well with his bone claws shows their strength. We'll see how strong the bone claws are on May 23! Let's not forget that Wolverine dismantled Silver Samurai's armor with his BARE HANDS! haha
Anyway, I know that we have talked about the back seam on the shirt, but we have a better shot of it now and I don't see a seam on it. Any thoughts?
