Wolverine 2

Putting my vendetta against that production aside for a moment, I have to say that Wolverine was horrible; which is why I still find it shocking that Aronofsky is directing it... but I have faith in that guy, as he's no slouch.

wolverine 1 was absolutely horrible..To be honest, I thought the whole x-men series of movies were horrible...number 2 was the best of the bunch, but they were all pretty bad

It doesn't sound like The Rock is going to be in the movie (mores the pity, in my opinion) but is giving Hugh advice on how to safely gain muscle.

That's what I got out of it as well. Wolverine was a mess, so I'm hoping Aronosky does good. Pi was the only film I didn't care for. I liked Requiem for a Dream, loved The Fountain and Black Swan. We'll see what happens with this one.

yeh dwayne was just helping out with hugh's fitness...

the movie is covering wolvie's time in japan which is something I've always wanted to see and was hoping would have been covered in wolverine 1....

I'm hopeful that this will be a better movie with aronofsky at the helm....

EDIT: it should also be noted that this movie is being done as a standalone wolverine flick and not a sequel to the xmen origins one, and it's called "The Wolverine" which I kinda like...

Nobody cares anymore about continuity. They know they can just throw "Wolverine" in the title, stick Jackman in the role, and they're good to go. The sad thing is that this is pretty accurate as far as how comics go. You get one particular writer's run on a series, and then as that writer leaves, the next guy comes in and simply retcons anything and everything he doesn't like, and you're back to square one.

And that is why I find it so funny when folks complain about comic movies not being true to the source.

I enjoyed the 1st movie, it was a good popcorn action flick, I wish we'd saw more of the "Animal" Stryker talks about in X2 but eh oh well. I got hope that "The Wolverine" will be good.

I like hugh jackman. i wish they'd hire the comic writers to write the movies, then at least we wouldn't get non canon crapfests.

I thought it was pretty weak. Interesting concept that was too slapdash for my tastes and yet, at the same time, felt like it took forever to end. Reminded me of The Matrix 2 in that respect. One of those interminable movies where it felt like nothing happened, but everything was dealt with too quickly.

X-men 1 and 2 were good. 3 was okay. Wolverine was just crap. And with what they are doing with Spider-man and X-men First Class, I've almost lost faith in Marvel.

The distinction needs to be made... X-Men, Wolverine, and Spider-Man are not being made by Marvel films. The rights to those franchises still belong to Fox.
